FRUITS BASKET ONE SHOT
"Kyo, what if the curse was broken?" Tohru asked as they walked home from school. "W-what are you… where did this come from?" Kyo asked, he was taken off guard by her question, not expecting it. She hadn't talked about the curse since Rin's disappearance. Why the sudden urge to know. "It's just that Isuzu-sama was trying to find a way to break the curse and I", she was cut off by Kyo. "Stop! This is none of your business, it's got nothing to do with you!" Kyo yelled. Tohru looked shocked and saddened. Kyo realized what he'd done and apologized, "I'm sorry … I", but it as to late for she had ran and was no where in sight. 'Damn', Kyo cursed as he ran to the house. He grabbed an umbrella and ran back out. Not telling anyone where he was going, not that he could; to day was New Years Eve and everyone was at the main house.

'I'm no help to them, especially Kyo'. Tohru ran, tears running down her cheeks as the rain poured down from above. 'I want to help them... I want to help him, I don't want Kyo to go' Tohru didn't realize where she was until she got there. "Mom, what should I do? I don't want to lose Kyo" she cried as she crouched in front of her mother's grave.

"Damn I've looked everywhere", Kyo yelled out in frustration. The rain was taking its toll and he was becoming weaker by the hour. He had been searching for 2 hours straight; going to the places they frequently visited. He then stopped. 'THE GRAVEYARD!!' He ran there, hoping and praying she'd be there.
That's where he found her; at the foot of her mothers grave, wet, shivering, and sound asleep. When he approached her he saw tears still visible on her face. He carefully picked her up and carried her back to the house. When he reached the house he went to her room, laid her on the bed and wrapped her in many blankets. He then quickly undressed himself, got into some warm clothes and went to make porridge. He shuddered at the unpleasant but necessary task of making leek soup for a second time, but got over it. He placed a mask and gloves on and headed to the kitchen.
One messy kitchen later…
Kyo slowly walked up to Tohru's room to find that she had awakened and had changed into her pajamas. "Eh? K-Kyo!?"
"h-here eat now" he handed her the soup and left to his room; He could feel himself transforming from weakness and didn't want Tohru to worry. He soon transformed and collapsed to the floor. Tohru finished her soup, she was worried about Kyo so she went to check on him. "Kyo" Tohru panicked as she walked into his room to find him on the floor. "Oh no Kyo your sick!" she frantically picked him up and placed him in his bed. "I'll go make you some porridge" she ran out the room and returned with the soup moments later. She started feeding Kyo. After Kyo ate he transformed back, feeling a bit better. "So what was in that porridge anyway?" he asked. "Oh I used the porridge that was in the pot but added a dash of cinnamon" Tohru replied. "YOU WHAT!! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?" Kyo yelled. Tohru looked down at the floor, "I just wanted you to get better, sorry". Kyo smiled; lifting up Tohru's head and looking her in the eyes, "no I'm sorry, for earlier too and I'm happy that you care for me as much as I care for you…Tohru... I love you". Tohru looked a little shocked but soon smiled as tears formed in her eyes. "I love you too". Tohru launched herself at Kyo, much to his and her surprise he didn't transform and they shared a passionate kiss. "Kyo your curse it's gone" Tohru said in shock. Kyo smiled at Tohru tears also in his eye's, "thank you Tohru". That night they fell asleep in each others arms. That's how Yuki, Shigure, Hatori, and Momiji found them the next morning.
