"Siobhan, get your arse down here, the bus is outside!"
I hopped out of bed and swung open the door of my closet. After changing into a pair of jeans, a t-shirt with an Irish flag and a gray hoodie, I slid down the banister and picked up my bag from the end of the stairs. My mam tossed me a piece of toast as I ran out the door.
"Bye mam, see ya later!"
I ran across the lawn while stuffing the toast in my mouth and hopped on the bus, panting slightly. There was only one free seat left next to a short brunnette, so I walked down the bus and tapped her on the shoulder.
"Sorry, do you mind if I sit here?"
She looked at me with a puzzled look on her face before nodding and sliding over to beside the window. Nearly as soon as I sat down, she started to talk.
"Hi, I'm Rachel Berry, star of McKinley High Glee club. I haven't seen you around school, are you new here?"
I was kinda surprised she was so upfront about it, so I just nodded. For the rest of the ride to school, the only thing I got to say my name. Rachel was telling all about how one day she was going to be a star. I didn't know how to react, but when in doubt, just smile and nod.
"Siobhan, do want to sit with me and my boyfriend at lunch?"
I was still smiling and nodding, so I unintentionally agreed to have lunch with her. By now, we were walking into the school, so Rachel took me to the office so I could get my schedule. I knocked on the door and the secretary let me in.
"What do you want?"
I smiled widely at the cranky woman glaring at mefrom behind her desk.
"Hi, I'm new here and I was wondering if I could get my schedule."
The secretary mumbled to herself while searching through papers scattered around her desk. After about 5 minutes, she handed me my schedule and rushed me out the door. Just then, the bell rang.
"What? Ididn't even get to my locker!"
I rushed through the halls and ran into my English class. The teacher saw me walking in with the crowd, and he motioned for me to stand at the front of the class while everyone else sat down.
"Everyone, this is Siobhan O Shea. Siobhan, why don't you tell us about yourself."
He sat down and looked at me expectantly. I put on a smile and turned to the class.
"Hey, I'm Siobhan. I'm 16, I love music and I'm from Ireland. Any questions?"
Nearly everyone raised their hands. I sighed and started talking again.
"Before you ask, we don't haveleprechauns, we don't all wear green, we eat food besides potatoes and I didn't live under a rainbow. Any other questions?"
Everyone slowly lowered their hands. The teacher looked at me with an amused look before telling me to sit next to a blond girl in a cheerleading uniform at the back of the class.
