"Here we are with the top star on the charts - for the fifth year in a row! - Wilbur Robinson!"

Wilbur had loved music since he was young. It came from being his mom's son, he supposed. But he never really got into song writing until he had some inspiration.

"Great to be here, Jimmy."

That inspiration being, 'falling in love with his own dad from the past'. Not that anyone knew the part about his dad. Or the part about being in love. His family just thought he was creative.

"So, I bet you know the burning question on everyone's mind..."

But the people of the world thought differently. 'No one can write about love like THAT without being in love first!' they'd all say.

"I bet I do. They all wanna know who my recent single was about, don't they?"

Finally, he'd give them what they wanted.

"You know it! But I bet I can guess your answer-"

"His name is Lewis."

Jimmy was stunned into silence, as was the audience.

Not because any of them knew who Lewis was - no, only the ones back at the Robinson house, watching this broadcast live, knew who Lewis was.

But everyone else was silent because Wilbur Robinson had finally admitted his muse.

"I won't give out his last name, to save his privacy," Wilbur said skillfully, "but that's who I always write about. Every single one of my songs has been about him, I just... I didn't want to say it out loud."

"Any reason why that is?" Jimmy leaned close, as if this was a juicy secret just between them.

"He's married."

The audience ooh-ed in sympathy. Wilbur smiled bitterly. Being married wasn't the half of it, but it was all he could say.

"Yikes. That's gotta sting, Willy-Billy."

"Don't call me that."

"Just trying to make you feel better!" Jimmy laughed, and Wilbur gave a hollow laugh of his own, because it was what was expected of him.

The interview moved on to talk about his upcoming tour - in two days. It wouldn't give him enough time to come home, and it would last for a year. Wilbur didn't want to go home so soon after confessing his forbidden feelings on live TV. Even a year was too soon for him, knowing that as soon as he got home, everyone would hound him, try to keep him away from his father.

Cornelius wasn't the one Wilbur loved. But they wouldn't understand it.

"Well, it was great having you! Hope you'll stop by after the tour, Wilbur!"

"Planning to."

"Oh, you usually say hi to your family before you leave..."

Wilbur swallowed thickly. He always did - that was part of his image. He always gave shoutouts to his family after concerts, after interviews... Not wanting to lose that image, he faced the camera - no cameraman was required for it to zoom in on his face. His dad's tech.

"Hey, guys. Hope you're not too shocked about Lewis. I'll... I'll see you all after the tour."
