Cloaks, Daggers, and Metal Heads

Disclaimer: I do not own the Jak and Daxter series.

A/N: This takes place during Jak's two year prison sentence. If I like the story I will make into a fully-fledged multi-chaptered story. Until then, read and review or I will get Sig's Peace Maker.

It was a normal day in Haven City, well, as normal as a day can get. The citizens were minding their own business, the oppressive Krimzon Guard were patrolling, looking for an excuse to arrest someone, and Baron Praxis's propaganda machines were spewing out "helpful" messages and "truths". It wasn't an unusual day except for the man sitting on the bench.

The person wouldn't be strange except for the fact his hood was pulled up to hide his face from any suspicious KG, and this person seem to be watching the passerby. The man would scan the crowd, as if he/she was searching for a particular person. Then the strange man found his target. Another hooded person sat on the same bench as the man. To any unsuspecting person it would like just two strangers who don't know each other just resting on the bench. However, if anyone looked close enough they would notice that the recent stranger handed the other a message, but no one in Haven looks closely for fear of finding something they didn't want to find. Then, in a blink of an eye, the two strangers were gone. It was as if they never existed. The man who received the message turned corners weaved through the crowds as if he was just trying to lose a tail. Then again, he was a spy for the Underground fighting to overthrow Baron Praxis's dictatorship, so maybe the slight paranoia is justified. The spy kept up these evasive maneuvers until he reached the Slums.

It seemed like the spy was home free until a nearby patrol of KG noticed him. "Hey, you, stop," the KG squad leader ordered. Instantly the spy ran. "After him!" the patrol chased after the spy. The spy climbed up pipes, gutters and windows and jumped along the rooftops while the KG were trying to keep up at ground level, taking the occasional potshot. The spy jumped off the rooftop and rolled before he hit the ground. The spy was almost to Underground HQ, but then he was cornered by another patrol! The two KG squads surrounded, their guns aiming right at his head. "All right, buddy," the KG squad leader growled, "hands above your head." The spy slowly put his hands up and then he threw the Eco gas bomb he had hidden in his sleeve onto the ground. The street was suddenly filled with Green Eco gas. The KG started coughing and couldn't see. When the gas cleared, the spy was gone. "Damn," the squad leader yelled, "spread out and look for him. A few streets away, the spy arrived at a door painted with the Underground symbol and gave the knock that only members of the resistance knew. The door opened and the spy walked in. As quickly as it opened, the door closed. All in all, it was just another day in Haven City.
