From there it's your typical spiel
Yeah if life was a highway
I was drunk at the wheel
I was helping the loose ends
All fall apart
Yeah I swear I was destined to fail
And fail from the start
-Relient K, "Deathbed"
Charlie Weasley, otherwise known as the "odd Weasley" -the one that people gossiped about, the one without any children, the one who was "in love" with dragons.
Everyone made up excuses for why he never settled down and had some kids of his own. They varied from, "He is too busy with work," "He was never one for kids," and "He never found the right lady."
All of those answers were terribly wrong -especially the last one. He had found the perfect girl, the girl of his dreams. She was fiery, passionate, out-spoken, and absolutely beautiful -just how he liked 'em. She was also taken, but she wasn't when he had met first met her.
Charlie had set eyes upon that silvery-blonde girl way before Bill had. He had watched her gracefully move into the Tournament ring -her willowy frame demanding full attention from the crowd. He had been thoroughly intrigued by the way she had handled her dragon as she completed the first task. He had wanted desperately to have a word with her but he had been much too busy.
Now he regretted not making time to approach Fleur back at Hogwarts when he had had the chance. Now she was happily married to his brother Bill and they had three beautiful children together. He was not angry with his elder brother, though. He knew that it wasn't Bill's fault -Bill had never found out Charlie's feeling towards his bride and Charlie had no intention to ever let him know.
Would he ever get married? He doubted it. No girl would ever able to spark his interest like that self-assured French girl had. He would have to just deal with being the weird Weasley without a wife or a bunch of children to call his own. Did it bother him? Of course -but there was nothing that he could do about it now.
This was done for lumos maximum's Tragic Challenge.
Thanks Mew for betaing this! I agree that he could use a huggle!
