A/N - I'm one of those people who can't deal with the fact that Fred died. My little baby Freddie. I mean, really?
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Harry Potter. I do wish that I did, however.
Read on, loves.
Two Turns:
The look of complete and utter anguish on George's face when her, Harry and Ron step into the Great Hall makes her stop in her tracks, and she knows. She can't take another step, she feels like she can hardly breathe. When George looks up and catches her eye, she spins around and is moving before her brain realizes what she's doing.
She pauses at the staircase she had come down moments before, when she was happy and things looked as if they'd be okay, and then sprints passed them. 'How do things change so quickly,' she wonders to herself, kicking some rubble out of the way to enter Dumbledores office, and wiping her eyes on her tattered sleeve. Glancing around quickly, trying to figure out where he would have put it, she notices that this office is exactly the way he had left it.
"Ms. Granger," Hermione spins around, not expecting anyone to be there.
"Sorry, professor, I'm looking for something," she says as her eyes begin to fill with tears again.
McGonagall nods her head, "I know," she holds out her hand, the chain dangling from her finger tips, "you cannot try to bring everyone back though, Ms. Granger."
Hermione nods, "I know, professor," she says reaching out for the necklace, "thank you."
"Be careful," Hermione nods to herself as she watches her favorite professor leave the room, "two turns should do it."
As hermione watches Fred fight, Percy next to him, she can't help but be proud of him. She hears Percy tell a joke, and she almost laughs, but she feels it coming.
"You actually are joking Perce," she sees the wizard cast his spell, watches it hit the wall, and then she's yelling, "I don't think I've heard you joke since you were," she listens to his words fade as he and Percy get back into their fight, and she knows he'll be okay.
As she makes her way back to the Great Hall she has a little more of a bounce in her step, maybe she couldn't save everyone, but at least she was able to save the family that had been like her own since she was eleven.
The Weasley's, and hermione, stand off to the side watching Harry fight Voldemort, and when it's finally over and everyone is cheering, she feels the arms around her waist, and then hears the quietly whispered "thank you" in her ear. Knowing exactly whose arms she's in, she spins, throwing her arms around his neck, as he lifts her off the ground.
"I love you, Fred," she whispers softly.
She feels his grin against the side of her neck, "I love you, too, 'Mione."
Hermione isn't sure what he's thanking her for, he doesn't know that she did anything, but she looks up toward the steps of the castle and sees professor McGonagall watching them, and Hermione's almost positive she has something to do with it.
She laughs when George joins into their hug, but steps back for the brothers to have a moment to themselves.
Her eyes don't leave Fred, and throughout his conversation with George, his eyes don't leave her.
Fin.
A/N - So, I'm sorry it wasn't perfect, but I hope you enjoyed it regardless.
