Two years ago, he'd warned her against seeing Duncan.
"He'll hurt you." He'd said. "Just like he did to Courtney."
But she'd brushed it off. Young, foolish and in love, she'd not heeded his advice and she'd kept seeing Duncan anyway. He's just jealous. She'd told herself. He's biased.
And now, two years later, she stood outside on his front steps, looking like a wreck with her makeup running from a combination of rain and tears, she only had three words to say to him.
"You were right."
