It was a dark and stormy night at the Peacecraft Mansion. In the living room Wufei Chang a Chinese kid of about 16 years and Duo Maxwell a 16-year-old kid of American origin who wore his hair in a long brown braid were playing chess. Duo was losing pitifully (partially because he was distracted by the smell of chocolate cake in the kitchen).
Meanwhile Quatre Raberba Winner was sitting on the couch reading a book entitled How To Get Rid of Annoying Overprotective Sisters. Having 29 sisters of his own this was a major problem for him, especially since they were all older than him.
Quatre's friend Trowa was busy arm-wrestling his sister Cathy. So far neither of them had been able to move the others arm an inch.
Watching from the shadows was the one they called Heero Yuy. Heero liked to remain unobtrusive (until he decided to attack you). The only reason he was here (he kept telling himself) was that there might still be remnants of Marimeia's forces lurking around and as a Preventer it was his job to protect Relena. He was merely assuring that he received his salary next Friday.
In the kitchen Hilde was making a chocolate cake for dessert that evening. Naturally she and her cake were the main reason that Duo couldn't concentrate and was badly losing to Wufei in the chess game.
Holly Une (yes Lady Une's little sister but absolutely nothing like Lady) was preparing a salad. She was only aloud to do the lettuce though because when she tried to slice the tomato she'd cut her fingers instead. Out of the ten fingers on her two hands eight of them hand Band-Aids on them.
Amy Humong was making lasagna. Amy had been Wufei's next door neighbor until the events which brought about Marian's death. Amy and Wufei were also rivals and would try and kill each other any chance they got.
Of course this is not to say that women belong in the kitchen making dinner. The only reason the girls were doing the cooking is because they didn't want to eat burnt food. The Gundam Pilots were notorious for their lack of cooking abilities. For crying out loud Quatre and Trowa burnt soup last week. Heero broke Relena's microwave (very interesting story I'll have to write it). Duo was simply clumsy when it came to cooking and Wufei's idea of fixing diner was ordering take out.
Relena was sitting in an armchair in the living room trying to stay awake while reading a long letter from Romefellar. Apparently a light bulb had burnt out and Romefellar over reacted. They seemed to think that if a light bulb burnt out a servant should be there fixing it immediately. Impatiently Relena threw the letter into her fireplace.
Suddenly they heard a blood-curdling scream coming from the kitchen.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
