WHY

His body moved so gracefully that it seemed just unnatural. The soft breeze played with his hair as if creasing him, but too afraid to get much closer. He kept walking, trying to leave it all behind. To leave her behind. But he knew she was there. He could feel her. Of course she won't give up that easily. As much as he loved her determination, but he wanted her to give up just this once. Leave him as they all did. But no she was different from them. She was her.
"Kai" he stopped. But he never knew why what was in her voice that made him stop, he never understood that. He felt her slowly getting nearer.
"Kai" she whispered his name. He turned around. His gaze went straight to her face, to her eyes. Those ruby orbs shimmering with the light of the setting sun held hope, held determination but also fear and pain etched in them. But most of all held questions. Questions that he hadn't got answers of. Her questioning gaze was too much for him.
"Why?" she whispered. why do you always leave?'
"Because I have to." I need to.
"No" you want to.' He looked away.
"Stay with us" with me
"No" I can't,
She kept looking at him. Looking into his eyes. Eyes that held thousands of secrets. Secrets that she wanted to know. Her intense gaze made him feel uncomfortable. The desire in them. The fire. It made him feel warm on a cold day, as if his heart was melting. A whisper escaped his lips.
"Trust me" you are the only one who will.'
A smile graced her lips "Always." Even with my life.'
"Why though?" she said wanting to know all the unsaid in those two words.
"Because I'm scared." He whispered so slowly that she barely heard. She smiled and closed her eyed. He turned and walked away.
Tears made their way down her cheeks. Why Kai why? Why do you always turn your back at me? Why do you always leave me? Why don't you let me know you? Why do you always stay away from me? Why can't you be mine?
"Why don't you let me love you?" she said to the winds.
A smile appeared on his lips. I have to leave because of you. I'm afraid of you. Afraid of your love. Afraid I might hurt you. I have to stay away from you because of you. You can never be mine. You belong to all of them. You deserve their love. I cannot take that away from you. I'm leaving you because I love you.'
"I love you Hilary Titabana." A lone tear escaped his eyed.
