Disclaimer: I dont not own Divergent. The totally awesome Veronica Roth does!
Please, read on,
Tobias and I had just finished our little game of paintball in the park when it started raining. I was really regretting wearing my favourite dress now. Like, a lot. First, the paintball paint will stain it but now, the rain was making it smudge and slide down my dress, making it look like a demented rainbow.
Tobias and I ran across the sidewalk holding hands and laughing. He took off his jacket and we held it over our heads. It offered very little shelter from the storm, but it helped.
We were a block away from the train when Tobias stopped unexpectedly.
"What's wrong?" I asked over the pouring rain.
He smiled and pulled me close to him. "Tobias?" I looked at him like 'what's with this dude'.
"Have you ever wanted to be kissed in the rain?" He brushed a few raindrops off my cheek with his thumb.
I grinned because really I did. Tobias just raised his eyebrows. "Yeah," I looked up at his deep blue eyes.
The rain had completely drenched him through. His hair was tangled against the sides of his face. His skin glistened under the moonlight. His shirt stuck to his torso, showing off his impressive stomach muscles.
"We shouldn't waste the opportunity then." He whispered, while slowly slid his hands up my arm, across my shoulders, around my neck, until his hands where cupping my face.
Our lips met, and let's just say I didn't care that much about my dress anymore. I wrapped my arms around his neck and his hands snaked down to my waist. I realised that my feet weren't touching the ground anymore.
Okay, I need to go home and call Christina. This was gush-worthy. He clutched me closer to him and spun me around once before setting me down.
I smiled at him like an idiot. "Well… that was so much better than I imagined." I admitted.
Tobias grinned back at me. "Good." He ran a hand through my dripping-wet hair. Then he cleared his throat nervously. "Tris, there's a reason I brought you here today."
Oh gosh, I thought. He's going to apologise for splattering me with paintball paint isn't he? Oh I can't believe this. He can't just throw paint at me- My thoughts halted when I realized what he was doing. He was on the ground, kneeling. Yes, KNEELING.
"Tris, you know that I love you, but that's not enough. I want you to be mine," He paused and hesitantly, "forever. And I want to be yours. As soon as I pulled you out of that net, I knew you had to be mine. Will you marry me?" He gave a small smile and opened a small red velvet box. A white diamond ring sparkled inside it.
"Tobias," My hands flew up to his cheeks, ignoring the sheets of rain beating against the pavement around us, I kissed him with passion and love. "Yes, yes, of course. Yes. Yes. Yes."
He was the one smiling like an idiot then, and I felt so grateful to have brought the grin onto his perfect lips. He wrapped his hands around my face again and pulled me into yet another perfect kiss in the rain.
"Thank god…" He murmured against my lips. I giggled lightly. This was perfect, so perfect.
