Wúqíng watched on from her place at the dinner table. That woman had returned for a visit. She was out in the courtyard with Lěngxuè and fawning over Dumpy. Her too sweet innocence had still not been seen through.
Wúqíng averted her gaze. She didn't want to see that woman. She was the only one who knew better than to trust her. At times like that she wondered why she was there. Her ability to read minds was her only true mark of individuality. Somehow, they all too easily ignored her warnings and thought that it was jealousy. She was not that weak; could not fall prey to a simple feeling. Why else was she called Heartless?
"How is she?"
Lěngxuè sat at the table; Dumpy resting on his lap leisurely. "She's fine,"
Their friends were suitably appeased by that answer. They turned to one another for entertainment. However, Wúqíng wasn't hungry; nor was she content to socialise. She willed herself away from the table. They called after her but she easily ignored them.
Her wheelchair trundled over the uneven road. No one paid her any more heed than normal. She could feel two eyes turn to her from time to time. She knew who they belonged to and was only too willing to feign ignorance.
She turned onto a small road that was out of sight from prying eyes. That woman, Jī Yàohuā, was already waiting. Her face was adorned with an arrogant smile. She crept forward, confidence growing with every step.
Her expression grew composed. "Why have you followed me?"
Wúqíng replied at once. "I didn't follow you,"
Yàohuā laughed. "I don't fear you. Lěngxuè will still be mine,"
She looked away; Yàohuā was not someone who surrendered easily. She killed Skywings with ease in order to escape. Wúqíng was wary of what lengths her enemy would go to. Yàohuā had even attempted to kill her former leader.
"Wúqíng," Lěngxuè ambled over. "Yàohuā, why are you here?"
She smiled that innocent smile that everyone fell for. "I was going for a walk when your friend approached me,"
It was a blatant lie; they both knew that. She had wanted to escape Yàohuā's presence. She had no reason to seek her enemy out.
Her smile faded. "I think she still blames me for her bird's death,"
Wúqíng's wheelchair turned. She slowly trundled away. She didn't want to leave Lěngxuè with that woman but she couldn't stay in her presence either.
A hand fell on her shoulder. "Yàohuā wouldn't have killed Skywings,"
She lied with ease. "I know,"
He began to push the wheelchair. "Let's go,"
Author's Note: This is uninspired? Yes, I can understand why people will believe that. I won't argue. I've had a bad bout of writer's block. However, this movie simply has to be written for. I adore this movie so utterly and completely. So, I thank you for putting up with this piece. I hope that you've enjoyed at least one part. I apologise for the lack of quality.
