The human who uses the notebook can neither go to Heaven nor Hell
The black nothingness of darkness haunted Light Yagami from a very young age. The
feeling of loneness followed him everywhere he went, throughout his adolescent years no
one could match his intelligence leaving Light unable to relate to the people around. He
became disgusted with the rotting world and vowed to change it. Then came Ryuk and
the Death note, falling out of the sky. It was like a gift from god or a god of death to be
precise. Maybe this was the solution Light was looking for, if he could cleanse the world
of evil he might be able to rid himself of the darkness that attached itself to him for many
years.
That's when he met L the world's greatest detective, as Kira he tried to kill his enemy
that dared to stand in his place to glory but as Light, L was a savior from the darkness
lurking in the depths of soul. They could have been great friends and partners if they
hadn't been trying to kill each other, but the sole reason he met L was he was the main
suspect for the Kira case. Unfortunately Light had to kill him in attempt to escape the
darkness that was starting to grow. He could feel something pull and twist inside him; the
darkness had begun to slowly take over Light's sanity.
When L died, that was the end of them both It seemed Light had been consumed by the
darkness only cared of killing criminals for a sick idea that only made sense to him.
Maybe it made him crack or maybe it had shielded him from reality of Death Note and
his fate. As he took his finally breaths on the metal staircase he realized the truth, he was
not God and he would never be one either, he had been running away from his fear of the
darkness when it turns out the darkness would never leave Light it was a part of him as it
is a part of everyone. "Darkness my friend you have always been with me and now we
will be together forever". Light's last thought as his sight faded into black and his mind
disappeared into nothingness.
