"Sam, wait!" Quinn shouted as she ran rapidly towards him.
"I thought we already said goodbye, Q," he replied, though his tone sounded as if he yearned to know what she had to say.
"We did. But you can't do this. You can't just leave me."
"I told you. It's not my decision, okay? My dad got a job in Tennessee. It's a great opportunity for him after everything that's happened. I'm sorry, and I'll miss you and Glee Club, but I have to go. Goodbye, Quinn," he told her as a tear fell down her cheek. He brushed it off gently, his eyes filled with sorrow.
He began to walk off again, and the tears in her eyes started to flow again. "I still love you."
Sam stopped in his tracks. Those were the four words that he had been dying to hear ever since their break up. But it just didn't feel right. He spun around on his heel. "You're dating Finn."
"I know, and it feels so wrong. I know he still loves Rachel, and it's just not the same anymore. I miss you, Sam. I miss what we had. We were on top of the world; the school's golden couple. I want it back so badly."
He brushed another tear away from her face. "I know. I miss it, too. But I have to go. My dad's waiting."
"Please, Sam. Don't leave me. I can't afford to lose you again."
He sighed and began to lose his temper. "Where will I stay? I'm homeless, Quinn! Homeless!" The word stung as it left his lips. Homeless. He was homeless here in Lima.
Quinn pursed her lips. "You can live with me. Your dad can stay in Tennessee and you can live with me."
"What about Stevie and Stacy? They'll miss me and I'll miss them! They're my family, Quinn! They're all I have! I can't just leave them!"
"And you can't just leave me! Don't you care about me?"
"Of course I do. You're my girl, Quinn. But this is a huge opportunity. I have to take it. I'm sorry."
"Please, Sam," she whispered through her sobs. "Just stay with me. I'm broken."
He sighed and looked at her, his sea green eyes full of pain. "I can't."
"Please," she repeated.
"I wish I could."
"But you can! Please, Sam! After all that we had, how can you say no to me?"
"Quinn, do you not remember how we broke up? You cheated on me. You cheated on me with the guy that you're dating now. And here you are, asking me to stay in your house when you have a boyfriend."
"I'll break up with him. He has Rachel."
"No, Quinn. I don't want to be responsible for it."
"You won't! I will! He won't get hurt!"
"You don't know that!"
She looked him seriously, her hazel eyes filling up with tears.
He took a deep breath. "You're sure your parents will be okay with it?"
"I'll convince them."
He smiled gratefully. "I love you."
"I love you, too," she told him honestly.
She ran into his arms and kissed him passionately like she did so many times before. He spun her around and pushed a strand of hair away from her face. Even through all of the chaos that had occurred between them, Sam was sure on one thing: he had never stopped loving her.
