Clarke Griffin is human. Humans break down. It was only a matter of time till she did.
"I can hold my breath, I can bite my tongue, I can fake a smile, I can force a laugh, I can do it." Clarke often told this to herself during difficult times.
In her cell on the ark she would fake a smile and force a laugh for her mother when she visited. She would hold her breath and bite her tongue when she heard the people at camp talk about how privileged she was on the ark and how much of a princess she was.
"They don't know anything about me and they talk like they have known me for years like you Wells… I wish you were here." Clarke said sitting down next to Wells grave.
The Next Day
Clarke and Bellamy were out getting more seaweed together when Bellamy decided to be a jerk.
"I bet you like being in charge don't you princess because you have the power to boss people around, You like being above others." I can bite my tongue, I can hold my breath. Clarke let out a fake laugh.
"You act like your better than all of us. You think you are don't you. You probably loved being the ark's princess."
Clarke stopped dead in her tracks before turning around to look at Bellamy. "Yes I loved coming home to an empty home for 80% of the my life, I loved people pretending to like me, I loved getting bullied for being a 'princess'!" Clarke screamed at Bellamy tears threating to fall.
Bellamy looked regretful for what he said "Didn't know the princess cried."
Clarke's tears were no longer threating to fall because they were falling "I'm only human! I bleed when I fall down! I crash and I break down! Your words in my head are like knifes in my heart! One moment your saying I did a good job and then your throwing knifes at me I don't get it!"
Clarke dropped to her knee's burring her face in her hands "I can only take so much till I've had enough."
Realizing that what she is saying is true he kneels down in front of her and pulls her into his arms "I'm sorry Clarke."
He holds her and lets her cry. After a little bit Bellamy found himself crying with Clarke. They are only human after all.
How was it? I know it was kind of weird I just felt like writing a fanfic about Clarke saying those things to Bellamy and him comforts her.
