Disclaimer: Don't own, so nobody sue!
I don't really like Meer as a character, but I felt like being nice to her. Hope you like it, and please drop a review.
Her heart pounded in her ears. The "Pink Princess" stood in front of her, smiling. But that wasn't right. She was Lacus! Not that other girl! She was Lacus, wasn't she?
The coldness of Athrun's eyes stung. They were fiances, weren't they? He loved her, didn't he? What was with the questions? Of course he loved her. He had to love her. He had to. She loved him, didn't she?
Through the whirl of bullets, she trembled. Lacus ... No! She's not Lacus! ... crawled over to her and whispered that everything was going to be alright. But how could it be alright? How could anything ever be alright, when you're not sure who you are?
The bullets finally stopped, and they crawled out into the open. Athrun looked at her again, but without the coldness. She stood outside their circle, unsure of what to do. The brown haired boy offered her his hand. They all offered her friendship. She knew now that Athrun would never offer her love, yet, she could live with his friendship. She could live with anyone's friendship, as long as she could live as Meer.
Yes, she knew now who she was. As the bullet peirced her body, she twirled gracefully, before landing in Lacus' arms. More gunshots rang out. Bullets from Athrun's gun. Athrun was angry that she'd been injured. Did he know she was going to die? Would that hurt him?
It didn't hurt her. She could feel her life slipping, yet she was happy. Because, though she never got the chance to live as Meer, at least she'd die as her. As herself, at last.
