Near had never eaten sweets before, and Mello was always munching on a chocolate bar. Really, Near was just curious about the taste. Mello always played outside during break, this would be Near's chance. He snuck into the Mello's room carefully, looking around every few seconds as if Mello was going to appear and beat him for his something he hadn't even done yet. He carefully pulled Mello's dresser open and pulled the shoebox full of chocolate bars out, opening one and taking a small bite. His eyes lit up at the taste, and he couldn't help but take another.
Mello opened his door slowly, waving at Matt as the red-head walked into his own room. He switched the light on and pulled the door closed, turning around to change into his pajamas. Mello froze, looking down at the floor. His shoebox was out, a few bars of chocolate missing. The culprit was easy to guess. Near lay on his floor, a bit of melted chocolate on the corners of his mouth, his hands, and on his chest. It was a marvel how more chocolate had seemed to end up on him than in him. Mello's eyes narrowed as he looked down at the sleeping boy. Near wasn't curled up like he usually was when he dozed off, meaning he hadn't meant to fall asleep in here. Four chocolate bar wrappers lay beside him, a fifth bar half eaten and still grasped lightly in his hand. For a moment Mello was worried he'd thrown himself into a sugar coma, since he'd never seen the pale boy eat sweets before, but he quickly reassured himself that he didn't care. Near stirred slightly, eyes fluttering open and looking around slowly. He stiffened when he spotted Mello, though he made no visible effort to get up. "What are you doing in here?" Mello asked, seething. Near gulped, eyes darting around for an escape now.
"I've never had chocolate before and I was curious." He admitted after a few seconds, his search coming up empty. "I didn't know where else to find it, you stash it all away whenever we get some. I'm sorry, I'll replace the ones I ate." Mello's eyes softened slightly when he heard Near's voice quivering. He knelt down, smiling when Near squeezed his eyes shut and brace himself for pain, and wiped some chocolate off the younger boy's chest with his finger, licking it off the finger and watching Near closely as he looked up, clearly wondering why he wasn't already being sent off to the infirmary.
"You wasted some. I'll have to fix that." Mello said, leaning down to lick the chocolate off Near's chest. Near gasped slightly, than relaxed. A soft moan escaped as Mello continued working on the chocolate, moving on to Near's hands and mouth when his chest was clean. Near was saddened when the chocolate was gone, though Mello didn't make any effort to try and take the bar in his hand. Mello looked down at him and smirked, leaning back in to capture his lips again. Near's eyes widened this time before closing, happy to let Mello have his way. Mello deepened the kiss, pulling Near into his lap and making him drop the chocolate so he could hold on around the older boy's neck. Near decided he liked chocolate, but he liked the after effects better.
