Ava walked through the park, quiet and peaceful at night, and allowed the tears to stream down her face. Her dad had just died, her mom was a mess, and she had been holding it all in to be strong for everyone else. Now, that she was alone, she let herself grieve, "Daddy, I always thought you had an extra life in there somewhere. How could you just leave us like this?"

She quieted down as she heard the sounds of muffled tears coming from the park bench, "so much for being alone in the park. Beth, is that you?" She put her hand tenderly on Beth's shoulder.

Beth, her eyes puffy from crying, searched Ava's eyes for comfort, "Philip's dying."

Wordlessly, Ava pulled Beth into her arms and held her while she sobbed, "I'm so sorry." Ava felt this inexplicable need to comfort her: she hated to watch women cry. "It will be alright," she said, suddenly unsure if she was comforting Beth or herself, and kissed Beth tenderly on the forehead.

Beth looked up, and their eyes met briefly. Beth could see the pain in Ava's eyes mirrored her own, and moved to kiss her on the cheek. They both needed to forget the pain, if only for a little while. Her stomach turned on itself as their lips met, tenderly at first, before the aching in their hearts turned into ravenous desire. Neither one cared that they were in the middle of the park (albeit an empty one) as they ripped each other's clothes off in frenzied passion. Neither one thought about how they would feel in the morning as they entered each other, bodies melding into one, and shuddered as they reached a simultaneous climax. They only knew that they needed each other at this moment, and that was enough.
