I slowly opened my eyes to a new world, well; it was new in one respect. I recognised the dark alleyway, along with the familiar cement walkway beneath me, but one thing I didn't recognise was the blood on the floor-my blood, and the peculiar burning sensation that was scalding my throat...

"Who is she?"

"Is she ok?"

"She needs a doctor-fast!"

3 shadows were to my left, the two taller ones were men, ages ranging from about 20-35. One had a short stubble of blonde hair and the other a mass of black hair. The third shadow, I realised, was a girl, about my age, 15 or 16. Her eyes were a hazel brown and bloodshot. She was terrified.

Of me.

"Hey look!" the blonde-haired man said "she's awake!"

"About time" the other man bluntly replied.

The burning sensation was mangling my throat, it was eating away at me, and when the scents of the three humans rose up my nostrils, I knew that the girl had a right to be frightened by me.

I needed it. I needed it. The burning sensation was like daggers, cutting into my new body, ensnaring my senses. I was no longer normal.

The bluntly spoken man then cried "Whoa! Look at her eyes! Can eyes do that?"

I, of course, saw nothing, but as he spoke I suddenly felt an unbearable hunger arise from my stomach. The world seemed to be spinning, however, with only me feeling it.

"Dude! Look at them teeth! They're like bloody cannibals!"

It was the blonde man who had said that and now he was looking at me with an expression of grotesque interest.

A high-pitched female voice saying "She's like a vamp-" was the last thing I heard before I saw more red blood splatter onto the cement and join with mine. My fangs were in the girl throat, and the burning sensation had simmered down to a feeling of being insanely thirsty. I heard more screams and shrieks as I devoured the girl, letting her drop to the floor and I stared at the men before dealing with them also.

I was done. I was not human any more. I was different. I was dangerous.

What was I?

While walking away, I heard the ringing sirens of an approaching police car.

Wouldn't they be surprised to find three dead people with puncture wounds in their necks?
