Just a sprout

Small, and insignificant

Isn`t it?

Brought here by foreign forces

Meant to be somewhere else entirely

But still you`re smiling.

This small, insignificant seedling

Is your own

Sharing heart and blood, flesh and bone.

And as it grows

As you nurture it

You will find yourself more willing to stop, to quit.

And even though at first

You believed it was a stranger

Now you see, and believe, and will protect it from danger.

As it is both your daughter,

Your mother,

And yourself,

And anything you say or do will never help you out in any way, anymore.

Now you must stand back and watch

Hoping to take action

As your own brother turns back the clock.

He used to be nothing but a happy accident

You didn`t want him

Now he`s slowing your descent.

You`ll never pay him back for what he did for you

He saved your sanity and let you win

But at the same time made you lose.

His tears gather in a puddle

And you can feel it

His thoughts are muddled.

Everything that he once knew is upside-down

And all that you can hope to do is catch him

Before he hits the ground.

As he is both your brother,

Your father,

And yourself.

And anything you say or do will never help you out in any way, anymore.

But they`re becoming

Everything you`d hoped they`d be.

And they`re running

From the very thing you died to save them from.

But still they`re winning and returning to you

Turning back the clock

Unknowing what awaits them on the other side.

They`re becoming powerful and weakened,

Asleep and awakened.

They`re becoming little clones of yourselves!

But when you gaze upon them hoping

You feel yourself choking

And you know for a fact that`s not what you want them to be.

Because instead of copying your mistakes

They should learn to make their own.

They should realize you`re gone now

But they`ll never be alone.

And when they reach you, you should hug them.

Tell them that you love them, that you`re proud.

Because even though they`re just like you

That`s not what they want to do

They want to become who they`re meant to be.

So take their hand and smile at them

Let them know that you could care less

What choices they make or what who they want to be.

Just tell them you`re there for them

Be it family or friend

It`s all the same.

But they should be who they want to

Choose to do what they want to

Do all the things that make them happy.

As long as they don`t become another you.

"I`m here for you

Be it family or friend

It`s all the same.

But you should be who you want to

Choose to do what you want to

Do all the things that make you happy.

As long as you don`t become another me.

Because this is about your Becoming."
