Hikaru smiled as he studied Kaoru; it was a favourite past time of his. Hikaru and Kaoru were alike in so many ways, yet so different as well. Studying his twin was like studying himself. Hikaru smiled as he rolled onto his side, trying to get a better look as he propped himself up with an elbow.
Kaoru had always slept through Hikaru's musings and Hikaru didn't complain about it; he knew that Kaoru would be slightly uncomfortable with the idea of watching him sleep. Hikaru smiled as he reached out to stroke his brother's hair gently. The boys had always agreed that looking at each other was like taking a step back and taking a look at themselves. Unseen to others, Hikaru had a gentle personality at times, stroking and caressing his brother in bed at night. Kaoru had a hidden side as well, biting and nibbling at Hikaru when it took his fancy.
Hikaru traced his hand down Kaoru's face, drawing an invisible line of love down the other boy's cheek. Leaning in close, he kissed Kaoru's cheek and nuzzled his head under Kaoru's chin. Gently he let his hand creep down Kaoru's neck and glide down his chest, smirking gently as his fingers drew unseen lines across his muscled abdomen. Hikaru pulled his hand back, gently stroking Kaoru's torso in the other direction and he gently felt down his brother's arm until he reached the other boy's hand, clumsily fumbling until he found a comfortable grasp.
Hikaru looked down at their hands, knotted together. From this distance, they seemed exactly the same. However, if one were to inspect closely, they would find differences, imperfections and even specks of solidarity.
Hikaru and Kaoru were different on the outside. However, on the inside, they had hidden faces, only showing the truth to each other.
"Lovers," Hikaru mused aloud, causing Kaoru to stir, "searching for hidden faces…"
Authoress' notes: it's been a long time since I've updated with any new HiKaoru stuff so I wrote this little drabble for you all. I hope that you enjoyed it.
