Temari was depressed. She has been living in Konoha for a few months now and she is missing Suna like crazy. She especially misses her brothers. It does not help that Shikamaru, who was part of the reason she moved to Konoha, is not actually making sure that she feels like home in Konoha. Hell, Naruto and Sai have been making her feel welcome and at home here and that's saying something.
'Asshole. I moved here so we could spend more time with each other and make work a bit easier. God knows why he is called a genius when he can't recognise when someone is homesick. Maybe I should go to Suna for a few weeks to see how everyone is.' Temari thought.

Shikamaru was confused and he had no idea how to deal with it. Quite frankly he does not like being confused at all. It all comes back to Temari. He feels like something is wrong with her but he can't figure out what it was. It was annoying him really.
"Oh, Ino, Chouji!" Shikamaru called out as he saw his two best friends/siblings. Ino and Chouji looked over in Shikamaru's directions and walked up to him and they greeted each other.
"What's wrong Shikamaru? It's weird seeing you look confused" Chouji said, worried for his friend.
"Something is wrong with Temari and I have no idea why. It's getting troublesome" Shikamaru said. He couldn't figure out why Ino and Chouji where looking at him like he was a moron as he said his problem either.
"Baka!" Ino yelled and both men jumped, frightened of her wrath. "She's homesick, that's what's wrong with her! Since she's moved here to Konoha, you haven't even made a move to help the adjustment! One of the reasons she moved here was for you, you moron! Some genius you are!" Ino said and Chouji was nodding to what Ino was saying. It was true.
Shikamaru let Ino's words sink in and it finally clicked. "Fuck!" was all Shikamaru said before he bolted home to talk to Temari.

Temari was in the kitchen drinking tea when she heard the door slam open and shut. She then saw Shikamaru rush into the kitchen and out of breath.
"Is something wrong, Shikamaru?" Temari asked. She was quite worried something bad had happened. It's not everyday you see Shikamaru rushing and out of breath. Come on, he's one of the laziest people in Konoha.
"I'm so sorry for being a complete ass hole and not recognising that you are homesick. We're dating and I should make sure that you were adjusting to Konoha. So please, don't go back to Suna" Shikamaru practically begged and Temari was shocked. She was only thinking of going back for a holiday!
"I am not moving back to Suna, you moron. Yes, I am homesick but I am only going back to Suna for a holiday. So, what the hell brought this on, cry-baby?" Temari asked. Shikamaru smiled at the nickname.
"I knew something was up with you but I couldn't figure it out. Being homesick never crossed my mind. Me being an idiot I guess. But I promise that I look out for you form now on" Shikamaru said.
"I think we need to talk about several things, don't we cry-baby?" Temari said as she smiled at Shikamaru.
"Heh, troublesome woman" Shikamaru said as he smiled back at Temari. They both new they will be fine. After all, they're in this together.
