No One's Perfect
"Goodbye, Hermione." Those were the words Hermione would never forget. She watched the only man she had ever loved walk away. Earlier that day Hermione had walked in on him and another woman. It broke her heart to know that Hermione wasn't good enough.
"Why?" Hermione had asked.
"You aren't perfect."
"No one's perfect."
"Change. Maybe then I'll come back."
"Why? Why should I change?"
"Goodbye, Hermione." That was what she had last heard from him. A few days later they found him dead. He had killed himself because of Hermione. They found a note saying:
Hermione, Love,
I have always loved you. You were right. No one's perfect. I know you can never forgive for what I have done. That is why I have decided I have there is no reason I should live. I am killing myself. Remember, only you are perfect.

Hermione cried for days at a time. Her only two friends left calmed her down. Hermione thought of the special time her and Severus had shared. Their first kiss…
It was the Christmas Eve after Hermione's graduation. Severus was standing in a doorway. Hermione walked over and asked, "Severus, why are you just standing there?" Instead of answering Severus grabbed her shoulders and kissed her passionately. Afterwards Hermione had found out they were standing under mistletoe and Severus was waiting for her.
Hermione thought of other little things like that and cried. She would never again be held in Severus' arms. He would never again whisper for only her to hear, "I love you, Hermione, and I always will." Hermione cried. She would never look up at his smiling face after he had said that and kiss him gently on his soft lips. Never again would they share their small moments. 'If I had changed would Severus still be here?'
One night when Hermione went to bed she could have sworn she heard, "I love you, Hermione, and I always will." Over the years Hermione learned to stop thinking about Severus. Only one thing kept her love bound to him. Hermione may have rid Severus from her mind, but he would always be in her heart. Never would Hermione let Severus leave her life completely. She would never forget him. Never.
