Unexpected Visitor

Hey y'all! Sorry for disappearing for so long, but I'm back now! Here's a nice one-shot for my readers to enjoy! ...whatever readers I have left.

It was closing night and strike had finally ended. It was now about 2am and most of the other students had gone home. Jennifer Robinson walked into the small paint room to find that the students hadn't washed out their paint brushes, and just left them in the sink to get ruined. On top of that, they had left the paint cans on the floor-with the lids open!

"Ugh! Why?" Jenny grumbled, stepping around the paint cans to get to the sink, tying her dark-auburn hair into a ponytail. She hastily began to wash out the brushes and hang the hooks in the wall- where they belonged. After she was finished, she grabbed the rubber mallet and began to hammer the lids back onto the paint cans. Once that was done, she set them on the shelves in color order. She was satisfied once she was finished. The paint room was cleaner now.

"Glad that's done." Jenny sighed, turning out the light, and walking into the lounging room to grab her bag. She was surprised to see a woman standing in the middle of the room, as though she was expecting Jenny. Her brown hair was tied back into a bun and was wearing a peculiar outfit… almost like a dark-gray catsuit.

"Oh, hi…" Jenny said, trying to recognize her. She looked too old to be a college student… and a little young to be a professor… but looks can be deceiving. "Were you working on strike too? It's over now, you should go home and rest." Jenny continued, trying to sound friendly.

"I'm actually not a student here." The woman said.

"Oh… how may I help you?" Jenny asked hesitantly.

"I'm here on behalf of Nick Fury." The woman replied. "My name is Agent Hill. I'm an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Is the name Fury or S.H.I.E.L.D. familiar to you?"

"I'm sorry, no…" Jenny replied, rubbing her hands together. "Why are you here?"

"There's no need to be on edge Miss Robinson." Agent Hill said, noticing Jenny's weariness. "I'm just here to ask you a few questions. We mean you no harm. Director Fury has taken a positive interest in you. You've done a lot of good things. You and your friends saved the city, and you stopped an entire gang, who are all rotting in jail now."

"I only did what I thought was right." Jenny defended. "And leave my friends alone. You don't know what they've been through."

"We figured you'd want to protect your friends. Rest assured, we can help you."

"You're here to just ask me questions?" Jenny asked. "How did you know about all this?"

"There's a lot you don't seem to know Miss Robinson." Agent Hill replied. "But there is one question you might be interested in."

"And what's that?" Jenny asked.

Agent Hill walked closer to Jenny, standing just a foot away from her with her arms folded.

"What do you know about the Avengers Initiative?"

Sorry, it's super short, and a cliff hanger but there's more coming. While I was away, I really got to know this character and her team. So, they like to hang out with the Avengers every so often. Mostly Jenny. So excited to be writing more for her!
