While I'm working, I often have Second Opinion's OST playing as background music. Well, sometimes I get in the lyrical mood and want to write some words around it. One thing leads to another, and before you know it, I'm writing a musical movie. :P Lovely. So I'm breaking a rule by making a script format, but quite frankly I don't give a damn. Don't expect very frequent updates, but I hope you'll enjoy the parody. And yes, it's loosely based on UTK1/SO. Have fun!

The tunes are based on music from the UTK and SO OSTs, with a good heaping of imagination on the side. How does each musical number go exactly? That's all up to you.

Prologue

Musical Number: Hope

Featuring: Derek Stiles, Greg Kasal

Based on: "Second Opinion" from the Second Opinion OST (the intro music)

[Scene: Derek Stiles has his right hand raised, reciting the Hippocratic Oath. Naomi, the narrator, gives a voiceover while he recites.]

Derek Stiles: …May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.

Naomi Kimishima (voiceover): The year is 2018, in Angeles Bay, California. Medicine has advanced like never before, thanks to a slew of brilliant doctors and scientists.

[Scene: A cinematic sweep of Angeles Bay, with its skyscrapers and bustling downtown. The camera focuses on an ambulance racing through the streets, dodging traffic and pedestrians alike, with sirens blazing. It finally gets to its destination, a very tall hospital. The rather bloody patient, Kevin Turk, is getting wheeled in. As doctors and nurses flock to his position, we pass by Greg Kasal, who whisks a clipboard over. The opening strains of Hope play.]

Greg: Get his vitals steady!

Nurse #1: Are the new surgeons ready?

[Greg walks over to the consultation room. Along the way…]

Greg:

AIDS is no longer here,
Nor cancer too,
But there still are things
To make you blue.
And when you don't know
What else to do
Hope is here for you

Greg: Derek!

[Derek isn't in the room yet. Mary Fulton is here.]

Mary: He's at his rounds.

Greg: Damn the rounds! We gotta find him!

[Cut to Derek at his rounds.]

Derek:
8 years for that degree
Now I'm Stiles, M.D.
Time to be the best
And pass the test
Operation room
I'm here for you!
And you know, it's true
Hope would be nice to stay,
But I've got my sights on
Caduceus USA!

[Greg finds Derek.]

Greg: Derek! Get over here! You're doing the operation!

Derek: What? Me?

Greg: Well, what are you going to do? Continue with some shitty rounds? You're not an intern anymore!

Derek: I guess you're right. I'll be there in a moment.

Greg: Make it snappy, we gotta brief.

[He walks away.]

Derek:
If this surgery at hand
Goes all as planned—
Show off my command
Of vital glands—
Then there might be hope
Moving into that scope
I'll achieve my dream
As part of Caduceus' team!
Hope is here, to be supreme
Among surgeons with high esteem
And when I'm in that place
I'll be able to make my case
To better the human race!

[He runs off to the consultation room. The title screen appears: UNDER THE KNIFE: THE MUSICAL.]
