Reasons
For life and love and friendship.
For a Bust Sword and a cadet to train to use it.
Because there's a such thing as "No man left behind".
For five years.
For the experiences--- both good and bad.
For
a bet, a broken collar bone, a slight flesh wound, and all the
things
that dreams are made of.
Because he could help others.
For
sitting there for hours, fashioning the perfect
shoulder
armor, baking in the sun in a hot costume,
and
for helping friends in need.
For happiness.
Because
some of us still obstinately
believe
life should be fair.
Because no one else could.
Because the final escape mattered most.
For the sound of a loved one's living gasps in your ear.
For the most addictive smirk.
For
a special "You're a Zack fan" dog tag made
of
cheap foil from a friend who couldn't
afford
anything else.
For a Yubinbasya dounjinshi for birthdays.
For all the things in common with a certain General.
Because
there are still a few things we
could
all use to learn.
Because he should have been the hero.
For
being the first girl to wear his clothes at a con, her best friend
dressing
as Cloud to make her look better, and looking like
the
happiest people on the face of the Planet.
For
winning the Best Costume Contest because everyone
loves
him so much, her friend winning second for bravery.
Because Life doesn't always give you lemons.
For the lemonade you get out of it when Life does.
We are SOLDIER; it's stand or die.
For the 3:00 AM writing sessions.
Because
Sephiroth couldn't have done all that
paper
work on his own.
Because he could have left it all behind.
Because men don't cry.
And
for all the things that matter most, especially when it
seemed
so pointless and you are the only one left to
really
hold yourself up, even when all else looked hopeless.
