Jinny watches the sunset remembering the times she had sat there and watched the same sun fade with the now dead Herry.
Another sunset on the horizon
the light fades just as it has since time began
but tonight the colors aren't bright
the pinks and purples of the decaying day are disappearing
but the light is fading faster since you left
you left me here alone to watch the sunset
as I think of you longer the sun leaves quicker
the greens in the sky like your eyes
that pale light like your skin
the darkness that follows like your hair
the sun set was always indifferent to me
I never knew what to think about it
was it the beginning of a new day
or the end of the last
when you were here it was always the first
the beginning of another glorious day with you
but when you left my day was ending
the colors fade into darkness
and leave me here alone without you by my side
without your breath in the air
and without your presence near me
the sunset always had it's way with you
your eyes would explode with the colors
and you would get quiet and listen as if to hear it
I can almost see you there beside me
where we watched the darkness overcome the earth
so many sunsets have passed
I wish you could come back.
