Stand by You
The metal clashed and locked once more, golden-honey met and locked light brown eyes. The two warriors stepped back before launching at each other yet again only to meet in the centre and struggle, pushing at one another with little success.
"Damn it Shannon!" The brunette stepped back, throwing his axe to the side as his breath came out in pants, his usual calm demeanour ruined for the space of 8 seconds before he let a shaky breath out and collected himself, his steady gaze meeting the darker eyes of the taller of the two.
Shannon quirked an eyebrow in question, his eyes lingering quickly on the discarded weapon of his current enemy; he took a step back, his stance lowered slightly but he was cautious as he looked at the young brunette, as he calmed himself down.
"Why do you protect her so much?" His voice was back to normal as his hand waved in the direction of the blonde that stood behind her sister. "You know who she is; you know she could be the destruction of our world as we know it. Why?" his eyes pleaded, his voice still not betraying any emotion but his hand reached out gently as he took a slow step towards the black haired man.
Shannon let a small frown cross his face before he let his own sword swing at his side, his grip on the handle loose, he ignored a small gasp from behind, most likely from Pacifica; "She's my little sister. I need to protect her, I have to make sure that she's safe… until I know for sure that the prophesy is true, I won't let anything happen to her. I need to stand by her until the very end." They stood two steps away from each other. Shannon unconsciously closing the gap too as he looked down at the honey coloured eyes, there was yet another gasp.
"Is that so…" Christopher let his hand fall onto the cloaked chest before him. In a sudden rush he clung to the body, pressing against it as though his life depended upon it, his hands clutching to the cloak so hard they shook and his face buried in the softness of the pale neck. "You're just doing your big brother duty." He smiled gently, his warm breath trickling across the skin.
The soft thud of a sword falling was the only sound that could be heard as Shannon let one arm wrap around the smaller body, his sword hand gently rising as he pulled Christopher far enough for his hand to cup his face. "Just my big brother duty." He dipped and took the gentle lips into a small chaste kiss, smiling gently as he felt the smaller boy kiss back eagerly.
"Shannon?" The voice brought the two around to look at Pacifica and Raquel standing by the wagon. Pacifica was being held back gently by the taller woman and Raquel smiled gently in appreciation at the two men. Pacifica shook her head as her eyes began to tear, turning away and getting into the wagon.
"Seems to me like you weren't the only that thought Shannon belonged to Pacifica." Raquel smiled gently before she too got onto the wagon, but instead of going inside she took her place on the front and took hold of the reigns.
"I should go… and Shannon… I'll stand by you." Christopher looked up, a small blush playing on his cheeks.
Shannon smiled with a nod, he dipped and kissed him, this time a little longer and with more passion. "I'll see you later." He whispered, pecking him on the cheek before he let go and turned to pick up his sword.
"Bye." Christopher smiled, his fingers coming up to his lips before he too made his way to his axe before walking into the shadows of the forest.
"Don't worry, he'll be fine." Raquel smiled as she watched Shannon follow Christopher's movements, a glint of worry in his eyes before nodding to his sister.
