Behind closed doors
Song and Lyrics by Charlie Rich
My baby makes me proud; Lord don't she make me proud
From the time he first laid eyes on her she's made him proud
A Mossad agent, alone in Washington, yet she is part of the team now
She never makes a scene by hanging all over me in a crowd
There are times that he'd like her to hang out more with him,
Spend more time with him and not just as friends
Cause people like to talk Lord don't they love to talk
Unfortunately there are people in this world who would be upset
About the two of them getting together
For more than movies or a game of cards
They'd never hear the end of it.
But when they turn out the lights I know she'll be leaving with me
He's lucky that she lives close enough to him that they can and do carpool.
It allows him a chance to spend precious time with her.
Time he spends learning what he can about her.
And when we get behind closed doors
And she lets her hair hang down
And she makes me glad that I'm a man
Oh no one knows what goes on behind closed doors
And he allows himself the occasional daydream
Usually interrupted by a headslap from Gibbs.
My baby makes me smile Lord don't she make me smile
She often says something that makes no sense or she'll mess up one of the idioms.
He wonders sometimes if she purposely messes up the idioms;
As a way to make the team smile during a particularly hard case.
She's never far away or too tired to say "I want you"
He wants to profess his feelings.
He isn't certain that his love is returned.
He hopes that someday she'll tell him that she cares for him too.
She's always a lady just like a lady should be
Their jobs make it difficult to be proper ladies and gentlemen,
But he does his best to show her that chivalry isn't dead.
At least not while he still lives.
But when they turn out the lights she's still a baby to me
The hardest part, when he goes home is the loneliness.
He writes poetry and even put her into his books, but it's not the same.
So he listens to the love songs of his youth and dreams.
And when we get behind closed doors
And she lets her hair hang down
And she makes me glad that I'm a man
Oh no one knows what goes on behind closed doors
Behind closed doors
A/N: Sorry guys, but my workplace tends to play the song to death, and had to get it out of my system, so I wrote this little Tim/Ziva quickie. ^_^
