PROLOGUE
Miku Hatsune was a normal girl. She lived in a normal house, had a normal mother and a normal father, the normal brother who teased her like big brothers are supposed to do. She had normal friends, the normal bullies, the normal school, the normal teachers. Basically, she was just another person, just like anyone else. Except, she didn't know that all that was about to change.
She entered her bedroom with a slight yawn. School was really starting to take a toll on her, she was loosing sleep, and all this homework didn't help her relax at all. Plus, there were all these big-ass projects her teachers were whipping up for her and her classmates, and everyone was just tired as hell, unwilling to prepare to such a thing.
How disasterous that would be.
She sighed, flinging her schoolbag in a corner of her room before kicking the door closed with her foot, then she tiredly strode over to her bed and simply flopped down on it. She didn't even bother snuggling into her blankets, her head hit the pillow and off she was to Dreamland.
...
She was walking amongst a variety of wild flowers she had never seen before. In fact, the entire place seemed completely new to her. Never in her life had she ever seen a place so pretty as this. Miku happily walked around, enjoying her dream while she could. But soon, she felt herself being watched. Suspicious, she turned around slowly… only for her eyes to be met with two bright, azure eyes similar to her own. It was only then that she realized she had caught this boy – whoever he was – staring at her.
"Who are you?" he asked, his voice as sweet as honey. "Why are you here?"
"I'm in my dream. And my name is Miku. How about you? What are you doing in my dream, and just who are you?" she asked back.
The boy gave her a strange look.
"This isn't a dream. We're in reality," the boy answered back with a snicker. "And if you must know, my name is Len."
Miku burst out into a fit of pure laughter, making the blonde boy give her a strange stare.
"Of course it's a dream! I just fell asleep!" she exclaimed. "Anyways. If you're so convinced that we aren't in a dream, then, where are we?" she asked, her voice sounding slightly mocking.
"Well, for your information, Miku, you are in the land of Aëlis, and no, this isn't a dream. I should know."
Cue another burst of laughs, courtesy of Miku.
"Sure, keep hoping. This IS a dream, whether you like it or not."
"I called for you, Miku. It's the only reason you are actually here, with me, right now."
She simply stared at the boy, her eyes nearly glaring holes into his head. He sighed, but nonetheless looked the girl straight in the eyes, the seriousness in his stare strangely affecting Miku to the point where she stayed competely silent as he spoke a few simple words.
"I need your help. You are truly my last hope."
