Valentine's Day had arrived and the Mad Hatter had big plans for him and the March Hare. It was quite the surprise to the host that Hare never had a Valentine before. So, it was his mission to show him what happens on Valentine's Day. The duo were enjoying some tea and crumpets since it was their tea time. The Hatter just couldn't wait to shower the Hare with Valentine's gifts.
"Hare, are you ready to experience all the perks of Valentine's Day?" Hatter asked as he dabbed a napkin against his lips ever so lightly, looking back at him.
Hare nodded eagerly and smiled brightly, having to wait all day for this was almost painful for him. "Yes, Hatter. I'm ready."
Grinning, Hatter pulled out a big heart shaped card with lace trimming as well as a giant teddy bear that was holding a heart to match. "Happy Valentine's Day, my dear Hare." He said as he handed both things over to the more than eager Hare.
"Oh, wow!" The Hare exclaimed as he went to hug the teddy bear tightly before he placed it beside him and opened the card ever so carefully since he didn't want to ruin it. He then began to read it. "My dearest, Hare. Happy Valentine's Day. Will you be mine?" The March Hare furrowed his eyebrows as he looked back at Hatter. "Be your what? Hatter, I'm pretty sure you made a serious sentence fragment that needs some correcting."
Hatter sighed contently at how adorable his Hare was. He just couldn't be upset. The Hare was such an innocent and naïve fella it made his heart thump faster than usual every time he said or did something the host deemed cute. "No, Hare… 'Be Mine' is a phrase people use on Valentine's Day to ask someone to be their special someone…. Like a relationship…" The host said as he reached across the table and placed his grey gloved hand over the Hare's yellow one, looking back at him with those bright blue/green eyes of his.
Once the wheels in Hare's brain began the turn at where the Mad Hatter was going with this, his face was so pink from the blushing he was doing. "O-Oh…. I-I see…" The March Hare giggled like a little girl as he looked down at his lap so he couldn't look at Hatter in the eye. He couldn't believe that his best friend had feelings for him. The feelings were quite neutral to be honest.
Seeing that Hare was into him obviously, the Hatter crawled over to lay on the table facing him with a grin. "So, what do you say? Wanna make this thing official?" He asked as he leaned in closer to the Hare before tilting his chin up so that they were looking at each other properly.
Nodding his head, Hare licked his lips as he glanced down at Hatter's lips then his eyes. "Uh-huh…" And before he knew it, the Hatter was leaning in for a passionate kiss that woke his body up. It was heaven he was feeling, wasn't it? This was his first kiss and it felt as though he was floating on a cloud.
After a few minutes, the duo pulled apart to get some air. They seemed a bit dazed due to what they shared together. Meanwhile, the Dormouse popped out of his teapot to see what was going on. Even though he had a feeling. "Happy Valentine's Day…" He said then slipped back into his teapot, leaving the two blushing furiously over at the teapot.
"How true that is…"
