My First, Real Goodbye

May 1st, 2003

Luke got me this journal when he was out on his quest. I've never been much of a journal person, but I promise to write a little every day.

I guess I forgot to keep writing. Key word, 'forgot.' But Luke asked me how the journal was going and I felt bad for lying, so I decided to start writing again.

I'm writing this under Thalia's tree. I can always think better there. Luke isn't saying anything, but I think he's still angry about his quest. He didn't complete it.

I remember this journal! I thought I lost this years ago. When I showed it to Luke he smiled and told me to continue it. I think I might.

Yesterday, a new boy showed up. He's still asleep. Grover says his name is Percy and I'm convinced he's special. Maybe he knows something about the summer solstice! I'll ask him when he wakes up.

Yesterday, the boy, Percy, woke up for a few minutes. It's annoying that he didn't know anything about the solstice, though.

Earlier, Percy came around for good. He doesn't seem that smart. I have no idea how I thought he was the one I was waiting for.

Yesterday, Percy managed to get Clarisse and her siblings toilet-watered out the door. I got soaked, too, but I want this kid on my capture the flag team.

I'm sorry I haven't been writing, but we're leaving for a quest! We being, Percy, Grover and I. Oh, and I forget to mention he's a son of Poseidon. I was sure it would be Zeus, but maybe that was just wishful thinking. I guess this entry is so long because this is my first, real goodbye. The first time I have a chance of not returning, so I guess I want to say… goodbye.

(A/N I'm a jerk for not updating any of my billion and thirty three stories and instead writing a random one-shot. This is an inspiration from something I actually did as a kid, losing old journals and continuing them years later. Oh, and can I have a review or two on For My Crazy, Messed-Up Family? And this one? That's be great. Bye!)
