1. Changes

She may be my neighbor, and former childhood friend, but since we were both fourteen, she has been forced to stay away from me. I had almost killed her, and since that tragic night I have never been able to forgive myself for what happened.

She and I were in my room, it was a rainy Wednesday afternoon, the week before my fifteenth birthday. She and I had decided to chill out and listen to music on my bed. I hadn't eaten before, but I was feeling fine. She was lying on my stomach when it happened.

She was half way laying on my belly, her brown hair was in a messy bun behind her head on my lower ribs, and her hands were resting close to her head, where my belly button is, while her black sock covered feet were neatly tucked behind her, making her lay in the fetal position almost.

The next thing I know, we were on the floor, I'm on top of her and she is pushing and screaming at me to get off while the music blasted from my speakers. But then suddenly everything went quiet, the Cd had ended, and all I heard was soft moaning from Aaron.

Papa was visiting when and he heard Aaron's screams from my room. He ran up and kicked the door open, but only found Aaron motionless and bleeding from her neck… and me feeding on her.

The sudden noise made me look up at him, and at that moment he pulled me off her and pinned me to the floor, only a couple feet away from her body. Thankfully Mark was there as well, he saved her from dying that night. Papa rushed away to the near by forest to hunt while mom and Jade rushed Mark upstairs. How he and dad could resist her bloody body, I will never know.

I don't remember the hunt, but dad said I found a deer and sucked it dry. He later told me, after I had eaten and regained my human sanity, that Mark had sucked my venom out of her, and sutured the bite wounds. They took her to the hospital and said a dog bite her neck… to this day I never let Mark forget how thankful I was that he resisted her blood and stopped once my venom was gone from her body.

Since then I have stayed away from her. Chris and Jepha kept her away in school, and my parents kept her away from the second story when I was home. The night I bite her, I had decided to stay away for her protection, and asked everyone in my family to help keep her away.

I knew from that day on that everything would change with Aaron. I went from her childhood best friend, and her neighbor, to her almost-killer in a span of about five minutes. There is no possible way she could forgive me for this, and even if she did, the silver bite mark scars on her neck would be a permanent reminder of that day.

No one will believe a dog did that, unless the dog was a werewolf or some mutant dog. Even aside from the color of it, they still won't believe it, they are perfect circles, no dragging cuts or other teeth marks.
