"So what would you be, if you came back from the dead?" Kibeth asked Yrael, carefully keeping herself under her sheets, to avoid exposing anything, who was reading a book on the bed across from hers.

"What?" He responded quizically, staring as the young girl flopped over and rested her chin on her hands.

"I think you'd be a Cat" She said conversationally, staring at the older man.

"Kibeth, I'm trying to read here" Yrael answered, slightly snappishly, indicating the book open on his lap

"Can I read one?" Kibeth replied, staring at Yrael's large piles of books, most of which were written by some long-dead mage on curing, etc. Yrael shrugged and handed one of his personal favourites, a book written by an old sooth-sayer named "Meehaj'klasp", The Coming Death

Kibeth took the book graciously, and began reading the first chapter,

"Bo-ring!" She said, tossing the book at the back wall

"What do you mean?" Yrael asked, aware of the damage the young teenager may have caused, but she Was good at the creation of the Charter, a project that their mutual friend, Ranna, had thrown together.

"Everyone know the Butler did it, durrrrr!" she said, Yrael stared quizically at her, and sighed.

"You know, that book was about predictions of the Future, as well as the correlation of the past, to predict what is going to happen" Yrael said, putting his own book down gently

"Oh, well, what's the point in that, then? I can See the future, and I have These" she flourished a set of pipes "to look into the past." she finished.

"Well then, that should interest you." Yrael said, pointing at the book that lay, discarded, on the floor.

"Huh, come on, Mogget! let's do something fun!" Kibeth shrieked at him, jumping up from the bed. Yrael sighed, he had always hated that particular Pet name she had for him.

"No."

"Oh. You know, I think you'd be a Cat" Kibeth said thoughtfully

"What?" Yrael asked of the nineteen-year-old, staring over the newly-opened book at the woman he was forced to stay in the same room with, why couldn't it have been Ranna? at least She liked reading books.

"A Cat, you know, a white-furred one, if you were killed or bound into a shape or something. I don't know" Kibeth replied, twirling a lock of her waist-length gold-y sable-y hair in her fingers.

"Whatever." said Yrael irritably.

"So what do you think I'd be?" Kibeth asked, staring at Yrael.

"A Dog." He replied, paying attention to his new book.

"Why?" Kibeth said, pulling her covers close around her supple form.

"Because you like Dogs, like those wolf-like ones that your always around"

"Alsatians" Kibeth piped up

"That, and you act like a loud, obnoxious rude puppy who would lick everyone they meet and distract people who are trying to read with their constant yipping" Yrael commented, turning the page over in his book.

"WOOF!" Kibeth barked playfully, and jumped, the fact that she was stark naked forgotten, into Yrael's lap.

"WHAT THE_!?" Yrael exclaimed, as you would when one second you were reading a nice book, the next you found a small blonde-haired woman stark naked in your lap.

"C'mon, you said I'd be a dog!" She yipped out, and kissed him.

"Heh. Yeah I did." He said, ruffling the naked girls hair.

"Whine?" she said

So, what did you think? Strange ending, influenced by my dog jumping onto my lap halfway through the writing. Ah well. So many possibilities for the couple... hmmm...
