Gregory House didn't like the rain.
When he was a kid, he used to love running outside and playing in it. Then one day his father had come out and dragged him inside, then beat the shit out of him.
It really took all the fun out of it for him.
Then he had the infarction, and any time it rained or snowed, it caused him pain. So there was another great reason for hating the rain.
Beside him, his companion stirred, making a soft noise as her arm drifted over his waist. He couldn't help a small smile as he watched her sleep.
But then she had come along. The person he had once described as 'a stuffed animal made by Grandma' had somehow found her way into his bed, and before he knew it, into his well protected heart.
He found it ironic.
She loved the rain, and found it cleansing, as she had told him many times. He suspected there was more to it than that.
A small, gentle hand stirred him away from his thoughts, and he closed his eyes. "Thought you were asleep."
"I was," came her sleep addled reply.
He turned into her, and she wrapped a leg around his waist, drawing him close as thunder rumbled in the distance.
Okay, maybe the rain wasn't so bad...
The End...
A/N: I've watched several eps of House today, so I'm getting very inspired and I'm excited about it. Any suggestions, feel free to throw them my way. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and please remember to review!
