Lost and Found

Sam is 4 and Dean is 8.
Sam's favourite teddy bear, and the only thing they recovered from the fire other than themselves, has gone missing and Sam can't sleep without it.
After the rather depressing last story I wrote, I had to write something that was a little happier.

It was cold and dark outside the motel and the two brothers were sitting on one of the double beds inside the rather tacky looking green motel room. The tv was on, but only as back ground noise to help calm the youngest one.
"De, I can't find him." Sam said, barely audible in his tired state.
"Mr Snuffles is here somewhere Sammy. I'll find him." Dean said.
The oldest boy slid off the bed and went over to the large duffle bag that he and his brother shared and unzipped it. He empited everything on to the floor and then started to put it back in, continuously looking for the light blue and white bear.
It wasn't in the bag so he checked everywhere else he could think of, including the bathtub.
When he walked back into the bedroom empty handed, tears formed in Sam's eyes.
"I can't sleep without him De." Sam said, looking at his brother.
"I know Sammy, but I can't find..."
The rumble of a car engine interrupted him and then was cut off. Dean walked back into the other room where the tv was and stood next to it as front door of the motel was opened and John Winchester walked in.
"Dean it's nearly eleven at night, why are you boys still up?" John asked as he walked over to the bed and picked Sam up, giving him a hug.
"Mr. Snuffles is gone." Sam said and buried his face into his dad's shoulder.
John looked over to where he had last seen Dean standing by the television but he was gone...and the front door was open again.
"Dean!" John called out and ran outside, still carrying Sam.
He looked over to the Impala first and saw the back drivers side door open and the interior light was on.
"I found him!" Dean yelled and crawled out of the car, slamming the door closed.
He was holding Sam's bear in his hands and Sam pushed at John's shoulder until John put him down on the ground.
Sam ran the last few steps to where Dean was and Dean handed him the bear. Sam hugged it tightly and then hugged Dean.
"Thanks De." he said.
"No problem Sammy."
Dean grabbed hold of Sam's hand while Sam hugged the bear to him with the other.
The three Winchesters walked back into their motel room and while John locked door and made sure the salt lines were still intact the boys went back to bed.
When John walked back into the bedroom he saw the boys curled up in their bed, the bear in between them. They were both fast asleep.
John smiled slightly as he flicked off the light and threw himself into his own bed.

I know it's short and really bad, but I've had this idea in my head for a couple of days now and had to get it out.
