Kai Toshiki is not stupid, Miwa notices.

While he's not really the best student in their class, tends to forget his homework or, what Miwa thinks is way more likely, knows they got homework to do, but simply refuses to do it, and even has this habit of not even showing up at all rather often, his grades are not that bad. Not that he exceeds everyone else with his glorious grades, but he always is better than the average of the class and his grades mostly are better than Miwa's, although the latter actually regularly goes to school.

Miwa's pretty sure Kai could be the best in their class, if he stopped skipping four out of five days of school. Kai, however, seems to believe otherwise, when Miwa addresses this subject.

"So, what exactly are you trying to tell me?" He says, arms crossed and legs folded over each other, as they're sitting on one of the benches in the park. It's one of the rare days Kai came to school and although he left as quickly as possible after their last period ended, Miwa kept an eye on him and followed him up to the park bench, Kai usually takes a nap on.

Now, Kai sits next to him, probably not too happy about his company, but he hasn't told Miwa to leave, so he takes it as some kind of invitation to stay on the bench that can somehow already be seen as a property of Kai.

"I'm just saying you should show up more often at school. Toshiki." He adds at the end and it has just the effect on his friend, Miwa wanted. Kai looks at him in obvious bewilderment and Miwa himself notices just how absurdly strange it sounds. The name itself isn't that weird, but Kai is Kai, has always been just Kai to everyone and after all these years, Miwa can't recall a single time anybody dared to call Kai by his first name.

As if to make this whole discussion even more ridiculous, a smirk spreads on Kai's face.

"Don't tell me what to do, Taishi." Which is kind of, okay, this point goes to you, Kai, because hearing his own first name in Kai's deep and dumb voice sounds just as weird. Although it sounds really nice at the same time and for a moment, Miwa wonders, if they should always address each other with their first names, an idea he quickly dumps again, because wow, that would be really strange.

Though, right now, they somehow are already in this situation, so Miwa fixes Kai with this look, the one he likes to think of is intimidating.

"Toshiki."

"Taishi."

"Toshiki!"

If Kai actually is going to do this, Miwa surely won't back down, but instead, Kai doesn't seem to want to take this any further and leans back, closing his eyes.

"If this is that important to you, I might consider your advice, sometime. But then, you also should stop whining around when I get better grades that you."

"Aweso- hey, I don't whine around!"

"There. You're doing it again, Taishi."

"Toshiki."
