Those last moments as lightning streaked the black sky, enveloped with the flickering orange robes of fire as she is pierced by dozens of sharp glass shards from the cracked window.
She is stabbed in numerous places all over her pale girlish body- her entire body decorated in tiny shard of glass while a huge one juts out of the left side of her chest.
Seeing the glass fly towards her- quick as a flash- with the long, sharp thing she uses as a sword clasped in one small, delicate white hand; too fragile and frail for such a weapon.
She knows she can never go back, that everything she had done was a mistake. She had failed as the head of Countermeasure, she had VOWED to keep her classmates safe and to find a way to wipe out the calamity- the curse of Class 3.
But she had failed.
She realizes this as the angry orange flames shoot up throughout the burning wooden house and she sees the black haired girl with the pure red eye and the fake left eye, so green and so pure.
And she sees the boy.
Sakakibara. A boy who had done what she had failed to do. He was the one who protected everyone, who kept his mind clear and focused, who fought to defend the innocence of a girl she had just tried to kill.
She closes her glass filled eyes as she recalls the memory.
The memory of holding the hand of a certain chocolate haired male with a kind smile and beautiful brown eyes. Who had sympathized with her even though she had been a stranger at the time.
She had been mourning for her dead family member at the top of a hill, tears filling her beautiful eyes...when she slipped.
She fell and skidded on her belly through the grass, landing unceremoniously at the feet of that boy.
Sakakibara.
He had not hesitated to take a stranger's hand in his own- to help her back onto her dainty feet. With watery eyes, she looks at him through his tears at his kind, smiling face.
And now she knows that she would never be able to pay him back as her life flickers away like a candle and she is gone.
And the last thing she ever saw was that very same boy, Sakakibara with the doll-like girl; Misaki.
Oh how she envied her.
