It was nearing seven in the evening when Katie was walking to her car, alone in the parking garage of her law firm. Having her keys out already and having already pressing the automatic start on her car from a distance away, she heard something being dropped behind her.

Picking up her pace she only heard the sharp noise of her heels hitting the concrete as she neared her destination. Another noise of what sounded like a pipe being dropped sounded behind her closer this time then the last.

The tiny hairs on the back of her neck stood on end and her hands wrapped more firmly against the straps of her purse and her keys, both could be used as a weapon if need be. She did not do the stupid mistake of calling out to see if anyone was there, she'd seen enough movies to know that was just asking for trouble.

It was more than likely just the wind that had picked up during the day moving garbage around on the lower levels. Her mind was playing tricks on her, the day had been long and tiring and a good hot bath with a glass of wine was in order, the thought of the hot water against her skin, released just a little tension, maybe if she skipped having dinner first she could convince Nick to join her before he left for work.

Upon finally reaching her destination she saw a note on her car, another white envelope with the same black marker scribbled across. Waiting until she was in her car and the doors locked before she tore open finding the same white paper, this time the message different.

'You showed the noisy reporter what you were made of today. Did you see me in the crowd silently cheering you on?'

A little creeped out she crumpled the letter again and threw it on the passenger seat floor.

If she ignored it, it would go away.

At least she hoped.

Stepping out of her heels was the first thing she did when she walked through the door, her feet silently thanking her as she tiptoed towards the kitchen, the only light on.

"I saw you on TV today" Nick smiled as he dried his hands on the dish towel that sat close to where he stood

"It was a tough case, glad I won" she opened the fridge looking for a bottle of water to quench her thirst before she took her bath

"That reporter sure sounded like a bitch" Nick hadn't moved from his spot beside the sink

"I went to high school with her, she hasn't changed much except a few nose jobs" Katie replied after she took a few sips.

"To celebrate that I'm going to marry a celebrity I picked up this" he moved from his spot to reveal champagne in an ice bucket with two flutes placed neatly beside it.

"It's not the first time I've been on TV since we've been together"

"Well it was the first time you had a reporter so confused it left her speechless"

"I'll drink to that" Katie smiled taking the glass he had already poured for her and sipping watching him pour himself one.

"Do you think I could interest you in a little bubble bath before you have to go?" she asked taking another sip.

"As my lady wishes" he grabbed the champagne bottle and followed her into the bathroom.
