The sounds of light coughing awakened Fury from his light recharge. Onlining his optics, he rushed to his carrier's room to find her covered in her heavy organic blankets and trying to cough as lightly into her servos as she could manage.

"Carrier, are you all right?" Fury worryingly asked his carrier, walking to her berth side.

"Oh, my son," Fury's carrier started before going into another coughing fit.
Fury rushed to her aid by patting her back lightly to help ease the fit. After three minutes, her fit had stop and she removed her servos from her mouth and smiled weakly at her creation.

"I am so sorry Fury; I didn't mean to wake you. I was trying to be quiet. Primus knows you need to recharge more."

"Carrier I-" Fury started before looking at his carrier's servos. They were covered in bright blue energon. As he looked at her face plate, he saw a trail of energon on the right corner of her mouth. He gasped and reached over to her end table by her bed to grab an organic rag that stayed by her side should this ever happen. When he brought the rag back, it was wet and he knew it was covered in her energon.

"Primus, I need to take you to the doctor in the morning." Fury said trying to keep calm. He turned back around to his carrier and wiped her mouth and servos clean.

"I don't need to see the doctor, my creation. All I need is a little berth rest and I will be fine." Snow Shield said, putting a servo on his arm.

"Carrier, please, you haven't coughed up energon in a solar cycle. Please, just for me?" Fury asked his carrier. Putting his free servo onto hers and looking into her dim yellow optics.
Sighing in resignation, his carrier put her helm onto his chest and Fury covered her with the blankets.

"Okay, just for you my beloved sweetling," Snow Shied said, off-lining her optics and covering him with the organic material.
Fury looked down at his carrier, her sickness was returning. It was only a matter of time before she would start to show the signs. The dimming of her optics and taking in less and less energon were signs that sacred him, but when she started to cough up energon, it made his spark stop cold.
Fury pulled his carrier to him to make her more comfortable. She only curled up to him like this when she was going to the doctor. She wasn't scared of the doctor; she was scared of what he was going to say. For vorns, Fury was told by doctor after doctor that his carrier wouldn't make it for another half a vorn. She had surprised every doctor she had been too. But deep down in his spark he knew that she only stay alive to see him become an elite guard.

He didn't want to lose his carrier but he didn't want her to suffer anymore. She always told him that it was the will of Primus and the love of her sparkling that kept her online. She wanted to know that her son made his dream come true before becoming one with the All Spark. It made his spark ache to know that she suffered everyday just to see his dream come true.
Taking her servo in his, Fury started to hum the lullaby that his carrier sang to him when he was a sparkling.
