How to Be a Pirate for Dummies

(Pirates of the Caribbean Style)

Introduction

So everyone knows that pirates are supposed to sail the seven seas as they pillage and plunder to their hearts content. They say stuff like "Arr, and Shiver me Timbers." They have fake limbs i.e. wooden legs and metal hooks for hands. They are noted for having really bad manners.

But I find that I ask myself "Do Pirates really do all of that stuff?" So I turned to the handy dandy Pirates of the Caribbean movies for my answer. It is true that they do in fact sail the seven seas, and someone has a wooden eye. But I have found that most people's conception of what pirates are is not really entirely true.

We have a reference to pirates in the famous Disney classic, Peter Pan, where Captain Hook is the evil nemesis of all that is seemingly good in the world of Neverland. But were pirates really the bad guys all of the time.

And let's face it, if all we know of pirates is from Captain Hook, are they really always that dysfunctional. Hook is forever trying to kill Peter Pan and he never even really gets close.

So I would like to propose that there is a different kind of Pirate out there then what is shown in Peter Pan. Those pirates are our ever fearless and slightly insane Captain Jack Sparrow, the Mutinous "Captain" Hector Barbossa, the corrupt Davy Jones, the Pirate King Elizabeth Swan/Turner, and rash, respectable William Turner. These characters are the basis of the "ideal" that I hold of what a pirate is supposed to be.

In this story we will cover all you need to know about how to be a pirate from drinking rum to becoming a captain of your very own boat/ship.

Author's Note: This is my very first story. And before I forget to mention it… I do not own any of the characters that I will mention in passing. Because let's face it, only The Walt Disney Company has any of those rights. I am just another Joe Shmo, like the other 99.9999999999999999999999% of you people out there writing these stories.

Also, I apologize for the shortness of this first chapter but seeing as it is just an intro I hope that you can forgive me.
