I don't own Victorious

Nor do I own the song by Joshua Gorban

It was Christmas Eve. Jade was really lonely and sad. Beck was away on vacation visiting his family a few months ago and his plane had gone down.

Children sleeping

Snow is softly falling

Dreams are calling

Like bells in the distance

Before Jade's parents died Christmas was beautiful. It was laughter and fun and great times. But then she lost her parents. Soon after that she watched her little sister, Willow get murdered. Now Beck was gone too. It wasn't fair. The moments that were lost… wasted… the times she would never get back… she wanted back.

We were dreamers

Not so long ago

But one by one we

All had to grow up

There were so many things she would do different if she could. There were times she would have listened. There are times she would not have listened. She hurt before but nothing compared to the hurt she was feeling now. She wanted one thing for Christmas but it was impossible. The words rang in her ears. "Ma'am the plane went down. Our cruiser searched the ground but nobody was to be found. We're assuming they were all dead"

A knock on the door was heard.

"I'm not here," Jade said

"You sound like you're here to me," Cat replied, "Come on. Open up. I have a Christmas gift for you"

"There's only one gift I want," Jade said, "and that will never happen"

When it seems the magic slipped away

We find it all again on Christmas day

"Jade open up or I'll break the door down."

"Fine," Jade said, "Whatever"

She opened the door. Cat had baked her a whole tray of red velvet cupcakes. Jade had to smile at that.

Believe in what your heart is saying

Hear the melody that's playinjg

There's no time to waste

There's so much to celebrate

Believe in what you feel inside

And give your dreams the wings to fly

You have everything you need

If you just believe

"Thanks Cat. That was sweet of you. I'm sorry. I'm not in a holiday mood. I really miss Beck"

"Oh Jade," Cat said, "Sometimes… look sometimes things aren't as bad as they seem"

((Gotta love Cat, Jade thought, Ever the opotomist))

"Fair enough," Jade said

Trains move quickly to their journey's end

Another knock on the door was heard. It was Tori. Tori had gotten Jade a black dress for Christmas.

"What the HELL," Jade snapped, "Is that your way of reminding me that Beck is dead"

"Um… no," Tori said, "It's my way of saying Merry Christmas"

"Oh… well thanks," she said, "I'm sorry. I'm just really missing him"

Destination is where we begin again

Ships go sailing

Far across the sea

Trusting starlight

To get where they need to be

The doorbell rang again.

"Ugh. Who is it this time"

Tori and Cat looked at each other and grinned.

"Why don't you open the door?"

"Cause," Jade said, "Then I would just have to be reminded that Beck is dead"

"Or not," Cat said

Believe in what your heart is saying

Hear the melody that's playinjg

There's no time to waste

There's so much to celebrate

Believe in what you feel inside

And give your dreams the wings to fly

You have everything you need

If you just believe

Jade went to open the door. Once she did she dropped the plate of red velvet cupcakes and the dress and screamed excitedly. It was Beck at the door. She didn't know how he survived. More to the point she didn't give a damn how he survived. He was here. That's all she needed to know. It was the perfect Christmas.
