The inferno, followed by the Wildfire armor, vanished; leaving Ryo standing before his friends in street clothing. They'd finally defeated Talpa, saving the mortal world. The reality was just sinking in when a searing pain consumed Ryo's body, sending him staggering forward into the awaiting arms of Sage, "Ryo!"

"I'm sorry, the internal damage is beyond repair."
"Will he wake, Doctor?" asked Sage, already knowing the answer.
"He's in a coma."
For long hours, the four kept watch over their fallen leader. Then the monitor flat-lined, breaking their silence. "Farewell, Ryo."
