It was a like a tradition for Regulus that every Valentine's Day both his boyfriends would try to one up each other in the gift department. Regulus didn't really seem to mind that this occurred. He actually liked it this way. He enjoyed the fact that both James Potter and Barty Crouch Jr. were willing to spend a lot of money to show their love of him.
"Reg," James called from the living room, "come see what I've got you for Valentine's day."
Regulus could hear the excitement and happiness in James's voice as he got off his bed and padded down the hall. A smile much like the Cheshire Cat would have stretched it's way across Regulus's face as he started imagine what James Potter got him. James was a romantic of sorts and always seemed to go for the thoughtful gift. Something that Regulus would point out that he wanted while they were walking around Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade's Main Street.
James met Regulus at the doorway a huge smile stretching across his face. "Close your eyes," he commanded covering Regulus's eyes.
"What did you do to the living room James, Potter?" Regulus asked incredulously.
"You'll see." The smile was clear in James's voice.
Regulus could feel himself being lead forward by James and he wondered what kind of mess he would open his eyes to. He wasn't prepared for the scene that met his eyes when he opened them.
"Open your eyes," James commanded.
Regulus opened his eyes in confusion. The living room was covered in rose petals and lit candles. Standing there waiting was not just James Potter but also Barty Crouch Jr..
"Do you like your surprise?" James asked.
"I think so," Regulus said eyeing them both. He knew full well that James and Barty didn't get along well. But the look the two of them exchange had Regulus more than a little worried. "What's going on here?"
"James and I have come to an agreement this Valentine's Day that we should share you," Barty told Regulus plainly. "So our gift to you is us."
"Ta da," James said throwing his arms out to encompass the whole room.
"This is the best gift you both have ever given me. Thank you."
With a wicked wink to James Barty threw an arm around both men. "So do you boys want to start with the meal portion of the evening?" he asked lust clear on his voice. "Or skip straight to the fun part of the evening?"
"The fun part." Was the resounding answer from the other two as Barty lead them both up the stairs. Tonight was looking more and more promising by the minute. It was sure to be a Valentine's Day that wouldn't disappoint.
