Thank you, Joseph

The men gave him a wide berth as he walked out of the building. No one made an attempt to approach him. After the carnage that he left inside few had the guts to impede his progress in any manner.

The body count was twenty at this site bringing the full count up to fifty-five; fifty-five men and women dead at the hands of this man. The press was having a field day with the story. They were calling it a slaughter; many were demanding that he be brought up on charges regardless of his diplomatic immunity. Others were calling him a hero and still others were digging into the past of the man that was responsible for bringing down one of the most feared crime and terrorist organizations in the world.

One reporter though was simply stating facts; facts more sensational than the wildest rumor. That those who had perpetrated this crime had been warned; they had been told that if she was returned unharmed immediately, he would take no action against them. The perpetrators had scoffed and laughed then had wished him good luck in finding them and rescuing her. The reporter played the recording of his exact words and anyone with an ounce of sense or self-preservation would have recognized it for what it was- a warning that death would result if he had to come after them. But the criminals had ignored the warning.

He had tracked them, eliminated those responsible and rescued her. He did his job and did it well. Nothing but respect, truth and a bit of awe was evident in the reporter's voice as her heartfelt 'Thank you Joseph' was echoed by every Genovian.

Elise Kentworthy ended her segment. Her report would be the only one that the international press would use for this story. It would garner her most the prestigious award in the news business, but that was secondary to the knowledge that her princess and future queen was safe.
