There are many fics out there yet I have yet to see much of any Naruto Kekkei Genkai stories that are from the Cannon story and not some overpower godly Kekkei Genkai. There is also another fact that should be given, no one has jump up to make a fic about any Kekkei Tota abilities.
To make this challenging for those out there, I challenge anyone to come up with a Story with good build up that has Naruto discover a talent of his own to create his own Kekkei Tota ability. Now while many might argue he'd have to be part of a clan or a descendant of someone in his family, I argue that a Kekkei Tota ability has to start somewhere with someone coming up with mixing certain elements together.
The Dust Release already use the combination of Earth, wind and fire, Plenty of you would probably go with a start with wind and that's fine for Naruto. Just make sure you don't insert some random event where he is a master of it instantly or from Kyuub/Kurama.
The Worst thing you could do is do the Kurama kit thing, in my opinion, he's a hard ass and that's where the work of Naruto and Kurama's works well since it gives the story time for them to become friends.
Enough of that now, back to the challenge. Earth and Wind have yet to have a Kekkei Genkai that pertains to those two elements so I will gave a challenge for some to write a story up on that.
Challenge-
There are plenty of scenarios for Naruto to start his own ability, here are a couple ideas I would give you;
Time travel- Many fics have Naruto an intelligent person when he goes back in time, never keeping his cannon personality. Try keeping Naruto true to his own personality.
I've seen a few that have him go back before during the clan wars, many at the start of his youth and plenty before the Chunin Exams.
The real challenge I give you all is to get past the Chunin Exams if you get up to that point without any bashing or giving names to Sakura and Sasuke, we have enough of those around here ok.
Normal time with no time traveling- Just Naruto and his innocent young self wanting to find ways to get better, you can't argue this is a good start, there many fics that turn out great with Naruto being himself with no darkness in the fics, an example is the Village or a mob beats him around and gouges him on food prices. Enough of those fic as there are plenty of those already, just keep it down to angry stares and keeping the children distant from him like in cannon.
The main Challenge I give you all in this challenge fic is coming up with a Kekkai tota for Naruto to gradually develop and use, don't forget to figure out to give him the shadow clone jutsu, it just isn't a Naruto fic without His clone spamming but remember that limits he can do for canon sake.
For the sake of your own ideas and story, you can still do it your way but It's a challenge to you to not do any bashings overpower godmode stories along with no harems, to many fics focus on relationships and not the story. It's fine to do them but ease it in through the story, just keep in mind to focus on the story and not all the way on who Naruto dates, has sex with, and/or marries.
