Book 1- Beauty and the Beast

Beauty.
Long hair.
Opalesque eyes.
Perfect skin.
She was the definition of beauty: inner and outer. But she preferred to hide herself under heavy jackets and clothes, keeping herself wrapped in fabric armor, so to speak. She was beautiful down to her very soul, and was modest about it as well..
Beast.
Demon.
Monster.
Are a few things he was called throughout his life: a living martyr who gave up what could have been a nice happy life to save his home. The Kyuubi roared inside of him, locked away by powerful seals. But he was a nice boy: he was clean, kind, always trying to smile for everyone around him, even when they threw glares that could freeze over Hell.
Hell. That's what his world felt like sometimes.
Until, of course, the beauty came into his life. She and he trained together for a single mission and found they were close, closer than the Beast had been to many in his entire life. And one night, the Beast let the Beauty in on the secret of the demon inside of him...
...She didn't run. She didn't scream. Instead, she cried...but not for herself. No, she cried for him. She cried for his pain, his loneliness, his suffering. She said she saw him: she didn't see the monstrous demon, like everyone else.
She helped tame that wild beast known as Sadness, that animal of No Purpose. Together they stood, friends, opposites, lovers.
'love is like a rose, in that it can be delicate. But when you find it, the thorns will protect it, no matter what.'
