Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, but I have a plushie!
Finally, a story for my fave pairing, SasuSaku! It's oneshot I wrote around a week ago, just for Christmas. Small warning… they might be slightly OOC… but just barely. I hope you like it!
Christmas day had Sasuke bored. No missions, no training, no nothing. He was just sitting in bed, waiting for it to be over.
But then the doorbell rang.
Sasuke slowly got out of bed and walked to the door, wearing nothing but his usual white shorts and an undershirt.
"A… Hello, Sasuke-kun," Sakura stood at the door, blushing madly at the sight of Sasuke nearly shirtless.
The two of them stood in silence for around three seconds, and Sasuke contemplated closing the door.
"I have something for you," she said before he made a decision, her face still red. The pink-haired kunoichi held out a box wrapped in navy blue with a white ribbon around it. "Merry Christmas!" she smiled happily.
"Hn," was all Sasuke said as he took the present from her. "I haven't gotten one of these in years," he thought.
Realizing that Sakura wasn't going to leave until he opened it, Sasuke tore off the wrapping paper as if he was going to save it.
"I-I hope you like it," Sakura stuttered, "I wasn't sure of what to buy for you, so I made something…"
Sasuke held up the contents of the box: new armbands, hand-knitted and blue, with a card that said 'From your teammate, Sakura'. The card had a picture of the two of them training on the front.
"I never got you anything," Sasuke said flatly.
"That's okay," she looked down and put her hand on the back of her head nervously. "I'm just glad you like my present."
Sasuke raised an eyebrow, and Sakura waved her arms in front of her. "I mean, you never actually said you liked it, but I just guessed that since you never said anything bad--"
"What's with this girl?" Sasuke watched Sakura practically go ballistic in front of him as she tried to come up with a very unnecessary apology. "She's very annoying."
But Sakura's hand passed Sasuke's face, and he noticed tiny band-aids on her fingers. Band-aids just big enough to cover pinpricks… and he made the connection to the hand-knitted armbands he was holding.
It was a small present, but she had gathered the time to make it for him, even though she did hurt herself in the process. And even though she'd known that he was 90 percent likely to shut the door in her face.
Inwardly, Sasuke smiled. She was annoying, but also… cute.
"—And I know they're badly made, so I'm sorry—"
"… Nice."
Sakura blinked. "What?"
"They're very nice," Sasuke said under his breath.
Sakura looked like she was about to say something, but we'll never know, because she instantly quieted as Sasuke took her hands and pulled her towards him, gently kissing her.
"Thank you, Sakura," he said in a soft voice as he let go of her hands.
Sakura was speechless, and Sasuke couldn't believe what he'd just done. He hadn't meant to kiss her. It had just happened. But he realized that—involuntary or not—he had wanted to do that for a long time.
"So," he broke the silence that had fallen between them, "what should I get you as a present in return?"
Sakura just smiled at him. "Time like this with you… is all I want for Christmas."
Thanks for reading! Please review, I'd like to know if it was okay! Merry Christmas!
