After watching Angelic Layer again, I felt like doing this fanfic because I want to.

Chapter 1

Saki trudged her way home from school. Her blue eyes were as dull as ever, her short blonde hair went limp and the atmosphere around her was a depressing one. Everyone she passed gave her a look of pity but the girl did not notice. In her mind, everything was dull and grey.

She wasn't always like that. Ever since she was born, Saki was a happy, perky child with a bubbly attitude. She always had a cheerful smile and a wonderful laugh that made anyone who heard smile (mentally if not physically).

All as well until one month ago when Saki just started high school and heard that her best friend died in a car accident on her way to school. Saki was devastated. She cried at her friend's funeral and at her the burying. After that, the girl was never same and every day was the same for her.

When Saki reached home and entered through the front, Miu- Saki's auntie- was waiting for her in the in the kitchen with a big box wrapped in pink wrapping paper. "Saki, dear," the woman said sweetly and sorrowfully, "I know it has only been a month since her passing but I think it's time to move on. So…I brought you something."

"What is it?" Saki asked in an expressionless way.

"Remember Angelic Layer?"

The blonde girl nodded. If she can recall, Angelic Layer is a game involving moving dolls with your mind. What's more is that there are various tournaments held almost everywhere in the world. When she asked what about it, Miu pushed the box towards the younger girl and explained that she went out and brought all the thing Saki needs to make her own Angel and play Angelic Layer herself. Despite the strong feeling of depression, Saki couldn't help but smile at her auntie's consideration even though the equipment is expensive. She hugged Miu and carried the box upstairs to her room.

After setting up the equipment she need to make her Angel, Saki took about two eggs; one had a doll with fair skin and the other had chocolate brown. Both of them had a tall and slender built which is for Angels with speed. It did not take long for the girl to pick the brown doll. She had always wanted to make an Angel version of herself but she chose the brown to honour her departed friend. She open the egg, took out the doll and washed it before going to the hair. Again, she was doing this for her friend so she made the hair long and black with an uneven fringe. Saki the put the doll in the tube and the details came on the screen. She typed in the desired qualities of the doll and typed in the name 'Saffron'.

"Oh, it past bed-time already," Saki stated to herself. She felt pretty happy now that she made a doll version of her friend, "I'll work on some clothes tomorrow after school."

She set the doll her bedside and went to bed, wishing that something amazing would happen…

"Ow…" she muttered and rubbed her head. The last she remembered before being blacked out was getting hit by a speeding car, "Damn that hurt…huh?"

Her red eyes scanned her surroundings. By what she can tell, it looked like her friend's bedroom bed way much bigger than it was before and she was standing on a table…naked.

"Uwah!" she screamed, "T-This is bad! I need to get some clothes before creeper comes and-"

"Saffron?"

Hearing her name being called by a familiar voice, Saffron turned to see a giant version of Saki staring at her with shocked blue eyes.

What came next was two high pitched screams.

Done and Done. Won't update until sometime in April when I'm back from Paris.
