The light had slipped through the window…
There he was, all of the spectrums of light bent toward him in all his glory as the slimy, featureless faces whirled around him, whimpering for a touch.
And he chose her. He immediately asked for things beyond her universe, across the rainbow. But she tried, oh how she could try.
It was like a movie with matching clothes and perfect sets. It was all laid out for her, and she seized it with her transparent hand. Rewind and play, rewind and play to copy the perfect, absolute kiss.
For a while she'd believed his laughter and his smile. "Such a gentleman, so…(sigh) perfect." They all said that, but the light could reach the darkest corners of their fake clapping.
The morning ripped you away.
