One moment he was there, and the next he was gone. The silver haired boy she cared so much for. After all they had been through, he had just given up. After the promises he made, that he wouldn't give up, that he would never leave her. Yet he had done that. Exactly that what he had sworn not to do, he had done. Leaving her alone and broken. She had wondered many times, what she had done wrong for him to leave like this. Wasn't her blood enough? Was the fact that she cared so dearly for him enough reason for him to stay? Were the memories they shared not good enough for him? Yuuki had shed many tears after his department. There had been many moments when she tried to hate him. But all her effort failed. It was a fact that she could never hate him. Even now, when he had left her all alone.
Yuuki added the final touches to her uniform. The summer had finished and another year had gone by. Today the new night class students were going to arrive, and her being a perfect meant taking care of all the students, new and old ones. Working as a guardian became something she hated after Zero left. It took her 4 months to get out of the state of depression she was in. The thought of taking her own life had came across her mind a few times, but the idea of taking another child of the chairman away from him stopped her.
And after 4 months of having Yori, the chairman and Kaname worried sick over her, she decided to put up the fake mask she was so good in.
She continued her life pretending as if she was alright, while in fact. It wasn't. She was far from alright. While she walked towards the night dorms gate, she saw the big group of noble vampires standing in front of it. All of them in eager to see Kaname. It wasn't a surprise for her, Kaname was the only reason they were there. She quickly walked over to their sides and smiled the biggest and fakest smile possible as she waved at them.
'Good afternoon students. I'm Yuuki Cross, and I'll be your guide for if you ever need anything. Does any of you have a question?'
Like always, the vampires kept quiet and continued gazing over the school's ground. 'Very well then. I you'd follow, I'll bring you to your dorms there you'll be guided along by your dorm leader, Kaname-Sempai.'
This earned some excited whispers among the group, and that was all needed for them to begin walking towards the familiar night dorms. Yuuki quickly rushed after them, handing each of them a little book explaining the rules in it until they reached the big doors of the dorm. There they got waited by Kaname and Ichijo, Yuuki made her way over to Kaname, bowing politely in front of him. 'Good evening Kaname-Sempai. These are the new night class students.'
Kaname just sighed by her cold behavior and nodded. Ever since Zero left, Yuuki had became a loner, not willing to get to close to anyone. Not even Kaname who she loved so much before everything came crashing down.
And now? Now she didn't want to feel any kind of feeling. Not even love. Even to her adopted father she had acted coldly and to Yori, she hadn't spoken except for some brief talks. It was the punishment she put herself through. A punishment for the fact that she wasn't good enough for Zero to help him. For the fact that she couldn't prevent him into doing such reckless thing. Without saying another word, she turned around and walked back to the chairman's house, longing for her warm comfortable bed. Longing for this day to be over..
